Love how Giroux set the tone early. He wanted it so bad!  And I loved seeing Malkin pissed near the end :evil

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Couple of thoughts about today's game:

1.  Bryz saved his best game for last.  Yeah, he was helped mightily by good defensive play, but he still made the stops he had to make.
2.  Giroux started the game angry.  Good to see.
3.  Lots of blocked shots - part of that good defensive play.

I think the Flyers have a hard time against the NYR.  They can hold their own against any other team in the conference, particularly if Bryzgalov plays to his potential.

Bryz looked good because the Pens couldn't get to the middle and the team blocked 40 shots in front of him.  Maybe he'll surprise some people and prove himself in the next round, but I'm expecting more of the same.  The good news for him is that he just survived the best offense in the NHL and anyone he faces going forward is worse than the team that shoots at him every day...

Wrong. My point remains the same. For all of those screaming that he blew the last few games, no mention that the defense was horrendous letting up a gazillion odd-man rushes. It was all about the goalie, who...yes, played zesty. HOWEVER, it doesn't help when your defense hangs out you to dry time and time again. Yesterday, the defense tightened up, but its not about the goalie this time, its about the defense and what THEY did. It works both ways. As long as that is realized and recognized by you Bryz-haters, I'll be just fine.

Oh, and for a daily funny:

it's hard to blame the defense when he's letting in soft goals all the time.  the only way you can blame the defense is because they let the shot get back to him which isn't fair.  the defense has not played lights out, but i don't see the whole "hanging out to dry" that you see.  and while Bryz looked better yesterday it's hard not to give kudos to the defense that was air tight in their zone and blocked 40 shots.

no it doesnt work both ways when to have any chance of the opposition scoring less than four goals the defense has to play a perfect game

can you remember a single save he made in the last two games....i cant...thats cause there werent really any opportunities to do so...when he starts stealing a game here or there then i will say it goes both ways...but that has yet to happen...either he gives up five or the defense was outstanding

when does the game happen where the defense plays just ok but they win 3-2
