Has there been a more invisible player in the 3rd period of these last two games than Cindy?

Looks like the National Crosby League might have to find a new face.

Or god forbid a new way of marketing itself. Like appealing to traditional large market bases like NY, Bos, Philly, Det and such as well as the old historic teams from other countries, instead of just mindlessly promoting a pretty face ad nauseam for the most casual fans who are lucky to know what icing is, other than the shtein on top of cakes.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Don Ho

The best part about that was watching all the Pittsburgh fans behind the net jump up like it went in and then having to sit back down with that "son of a f'ing bitch!" reaction.

If ya got an hour to kill peruse some of these threads on the Pens board, they're downright hilarious:

Go right ahead. Nothing can lessen the amount of enjoyment I'm getting from this. The only way this could be better is if it were somehow happening in the finals.

The Penguins, on paper, have the far superior team but holy shtein are they playing like scared bitches right now. Beautiful.

Also, and I hate piggybacking on IGY's earlier points, but the young kids are showing tons of grit and leadership right now. The amount of responsibility and ice time that have been given to dudes who aren't old enough to drink yet is astonishing and the fact that they are responding with these kinds of results is even more so. To trade away the team leaders for kids who have no leadership experience at this level and have no playoff drop off (so far) is something that no one could have expected.

The Pens are too concerned with taking the body and getting cheap shots in to the point where it's affecting their play. They're so concerned with being physical that they're leaving guys open and being irresponsible defensively. I'm not saying that's the only reason they're losing but when you have the talent and health that they do you should be more concerned with winning the game and less concerned with who wins the hit battle. The Flyers are playing smart hockey. I have to applaud Lavy for making the Pens think this was going to be some big hit showdown...the Pens are winning in the physical department but who gives a shtein if you're down 2-0.

And I know this series is far from over, but I'm going to look ahead a bit. I hope to god one of the Sens/Devils/Caps win beat the Rangers, because I don't think the Flyers have a shot in hell of beating them. The only slight chance they have is to throw Bob in net but we all know they'll stick with Bryz instead. Whoever comes out of the East is going to win the Cup this season in my opinion.

rjs246

I don't think they can beat either the Bruins or the Rangers, so yes, a little help would be appreciated.

Having said that, I would love to watch the Flyers fight through all of my most hated teams to get to a cup. Nothing is better than watching the Penguins/Devils/Bruins/Rangers get beat by the Flyers in the playoffs.

They can beat the Bruins...or at the very least make it a series...against the Rangers they'll either get swept or pull out a game at home. That's the best case scenario. They start Bob against the Rags they can probably stretch the series out a bit but ultimately still lose in 6.

I look at the Bruins and I see a better version of the Flyers. Deep scoring with no superstars and very little drop off from one line to another, solid defense, the ability and willingness to be physical and far far far superior goaltending. Because they're similar I can see it being a relatively even matchup, but Boston is just better at all of the same things that the Flyers do well.
