Now there's a blast from the past...chuck chillout makes an appearance!

What the hell is going on around here?  First we hear from Geo for the first time in months and now this.

this is like the draft version of the lorenzo booker trade
if thats the case, are you jerking off to it like you did the booker trade?

.... attempt by the eagles to get the next westbrook

You say that like it's a bad thing.

DH

how is shady not already the next westbrook??

ice grillin you

in terms of production shady has done a nice job replacing him but im talking about how they are looking for that smaller type back

shadys a more solid workmalike back and is bigger.....these other buys like booker moats ect are more talented scatbackish/kick returner home run type type running backs...even westbrook when he was drafted was looked at that way...a third down type...they love those guys and have been trying to find one for a while....shady to me was drafted as a #1 back

I love Shady.  If this kid can help, great, but I don't want to see Shady get less work.

I love how trying to get the next Westbrook can be seen as a negative.

All that aside, people who take a look at this dude's height and write him off just aren't paying attention. Also, the comparisons to Booker are a joke too. Lewis has an extremely thick lower body, and runs with pretty awesome leverage. His best asset though is vision, which I think gives him a real good chance to contribute as the 3rd down back right away.

hes horrid in protection and isnt a great pass catcher....some of these things can be coached up but i doubt he gets regular time next year much less on third down...unless he becomes some sort of revelation in training camp...we all know how much emphasis reid puts on backs being able to pass block...expecially if this offensive line doesnt improve

They drafted a dude not too long ago that couldn't pass block for shtein....

yeah for some reason they do it all the time...its part of his god complex of trying to fit the square peg into the round hole...just hit em up with the midas touch and all will be well

To be fair, it's not like there are a trove of running backs coming out of college that are great in pass pro. Like it or not, Lewis is the type of back they like in this offense. Just as everyone wants a gigantic linebacker/DT to clog running lanes, continuing to expect them to get a huge "three yards and a cloud of dust" type mauler of a back is the definition of insanity.

My original point about Lewis is that he isn't just some super shifty scat back. Granted, he's short, but he's got a huge build in his lower body, and can run well inside, unlike, say, Booker, who was knocked down by stiff breezes.
