if he stays to his college form, he'll be an above average to pro bowl kicker for the forseeable future. having seen many teams lose games solely off the foot of their kicker, I'm actually a huge fan of this pick.

I like the pick....obviously Akers is the best kicker to ever play for the Eagles but he's well past his prime. Honestly I don't get why placekickers don't get drafted more often--a good kicker will win you more games than arguably any other position on the field other than QB. Not saying they should be going in the first round but I have no problem spending a 4th on a kicker as long as he's good, which it seems like this kid is.

If he can punt as well and free up a roster spot to be used somewhere else, all the better.

they took a kicker not only in the draft but in the 4th round....this could be the all time smartest men in the room pick....the rest of the league was def laughing at them in hysterics

Who cares? Whoever they might have picked instead would have sucked anyway. Maybe a white defensive end or a flyer on a QB who can understand a playbook but has a noodle arm?

I don't back it at all. Even if Henery is a HOF kicker, there's still ways to get guys 90% as good without blowing a 4th rounder. All I'm saying is the other guys they took all seem more bust-able.
