And what's your homie Roob gonna do? Who will he get?

What is Carlos Lee's contract situation? He signed a mega-deal, is it almost up? He's awful defensively but can hit. Raul is awful defensively and cannot hit. I like the Carlos Quentin idea a lot, but what will Kenny Williams want?

Salisbury points out the following;

Your Phightin' Phils have scored 3 or fewer runs in half of their games.

Part of it depends on how much financial room the owners give Amaro.  But it's clearly evident that they need a right-handed power-hitting OF.

Get RH OF.
Bring up Brown.
Shoot Ibanez.

The worry points are LF and RF. I'd drop Francisco back to the bench and let Mayberry take over. He cannot do worse than Francisco.

I know they probably don't do this because they want Raul's lhb in the lineup, but they really should consider putting Mayberry in right and Francisco back to left.  Hell, if they want a lefty then give Gload a little more playing time or something.  It's not much better but can't really be any worse, can it?  Hopefully, when Grit comes back, that's the lhb that Cholly needs to pull Ibanez completely.

carlos lee is terrible. hes fat, his power is gone and hes walked i think once this year. hes not even an improvement over ibanez.

quentin isnt much better but he still does have 20 homer power. what kenny could want for him i do not know but id imagine it would start with major league ready pitching and the only thing the phillies have like that is vance worley.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

and they're facing the lefty Mexican with a 5-0 record and a WHIP barely above 1.000

Don Ho

Todd, you better be here.  This is going to get ugly tonight.  Oswalt?  Who knows what we'll get out of him.  On a pitch count of 60-65.  Offense?  Need I elaborate?
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

Munson

Why would you want him here? to ruin any and all discussion of the game?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
