I'm a huge hater on first pitch swingers, but these guys gotta realize that Carpenter is giving them meat on the first pitch and take their hacks.

he really just shouldnt swing at all for the first three or four pitches and hope he gets ahead in the count...and if its it three strikes who cares hes gonna get out anyway and most likely strike out
