its impossible to say how werth would do if he was here, though.

one argument against says its ridiculous because of their record in june and another references his stats on the washington nationals

i should have known better to have even brought up a hypothetical like that

droppin bombs like i be on your mom
24-7 to corner store
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

Cliff Lee is 8 for his last 21.

Maybe I overstated the Werth > Lee in the five hole?

SD

Cliff Lee is the most dominant pitcher in the majors right now. 4-0 with a 0.27 ERA in the month of June. 23 consecutive inning scoreless streak. It's almost unfair.

PhillyPhreak54

Contreras was unavailable tonight with a sore elbow - Salisbury speculates that he could be headed back to the DL

SunMo

the chances of him being effective again this year are slightly less than the chances that his family makes it from cuba to miami on a refrigerator door

frankly he held the fort down in april so in my book they already got more out of him than i ever thought they would

look at statement 1. and tell me if that pertains to you at all...did you ever reference their record in june or bring up his current numbers as reasons as to why youd rather have lee...no you didnt...

so clearly i wasnt referring to you when i said that...rather i was saying it TO you

straighten your shtein out for god sakes...its embarrassing

Either way this was our "I got the shotgun you got the briefcase" moment and I was certainly not playing the part of muary levy

Is Lidge ever coming back?  I am still happy with Madson.

Sgt PSN

If/When Lidge comes back, I think he should have to earn the closer role back.  Use him sparringly at first, maybe to face a batter or 2 and then try and work him into the set up role.  If by chance he were to have his nasty stuff again, then you've got a nice problem in having 2 guys who can close.

charlie

If I were amaro, I would accidentally shut the elevator door on Lidge's arm the next time he's in the office to ensure he never pitches for the phillies again.

ice grillin you

its questionable at best whether either lidge or contreas ever hrows another meaningful pitch for this team....to even mention closer or set up man with either of them right now is way premature

lets see if they can ever effectively pitch again at all before we go any further

BigEd76

they already said that Lidge will be a 7th or 8th inning guy like he was when Wagner was in Houston
