The thing that was difficult to predict was how well Schwartz is managing the team's serious deficiencies at cornerback. His scheme has been masterful. Brown had like 150 yards today and it didn't even matter.
I think the offensive game plan was also very good, probably better than the play calling. They managed to keep Wentz clean and didn't get crap kicked out of him. I also liked the play design, particularly he play where Tobin reported as a eligible and I think they had 2 TEs as well. Wentz ran for 10 yards and a first but it looked like a designed option. Use him sparingly on designed runs but just enough to make defenses stay at home or pay for it.

i never said the defense wasnt going to be good....i said they wouldnt be good enough to give them 3-4 extra wins like you mentioned...thats the 85 bears or 00 ravens good.

but whatever the eagles kicked the farg outta the steelers go bask in your homer glory i dont caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare #flyeaglesfly
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

flex watch:
keep a close eye on week 6 (@dc). colts/texans is very unappealing. if both lose next week a move could be made for that or ravens/giants or bengals/pats.

week 7 (vs. min) is also a possibility, though unlikely because it is fox's best game. seahawks/cardinals seems solid, but if wilson is hurt and arizona loses its next 2....but i dont see it.

i see a few other chances down the line for either 830 or 425, but its too early to start projecting out. the eagles can be flexed 2 times to 830, not including week 17.

its something like week 4-8 they can do it once and only once during that span

the week 6 jawn is the one to keep an eye on if wash wins next week...colts/texans is a stinkbomb

i wouldnt bet on it happening, but they can pull the eagles twice in primetime -- most good teams they can only do it once. so doing one now wouldnt stop them from doing one later. but texans/colts figures to be competitive (i.e. close) and both teams will be "in the playoff race" so again, dont expect it.

QuoteThey also share a passion for religion. Wentz has a tattoo on his wrist that reads "AO1," standing for "Audience of One." Shortly after Wentz arrived in Philadelphia, Matthews put that phrase in his Twitter profile. When discussing Wentz after the Eagles' win on Sunday, Matthews referred to that devotion in his praise for the quarterback.

"He doesn't play for you. He doesn't play for his parents. He doesn't play for me," Matthews said." He plays for God straight up. So when you do that, there is no pressure. It is just straight up. So that is why any time he says something he says, 'AO1,' and everybody wants to say, 'Oh, is it this? Or is it this?' No. He puts himself in a position where he doesn't have to put pressure on himself. . . . I knew that about him and that he has got the skill set, and he has got the body and he has got the arm, and he works his butt off every single day."

Another way Matthews has gone about forming a relationship with Wentz has been through music. Matthews is a devoted fan of Kanye West. He asked Wentz what people listen to in North Dakota, joking that he doesn't know any rappers from that area.

Wentz likes country singer Jason Aldean. When Wentz's name was called at the draft in April, Aldean's "Fly Over States" played over the speakers in the Chicago auditorium.

Matthews went to college at Vanderbilt, so his time in Nashville exposed him to country music. He purchased an Aldean album to understand Wentz's taste.

"I thought if I'm going to learn this guy's mind-set, I have to listen to his music," Matthews said after the Eagles' Week 1 win, when he caught Wentz's first touchdown pass. "I listened to the whole album and it was pretty good. There's a song on there called 'Fly Over States,' and it made sense because where he lives is a flyover state. I've never been to North Dakota, so I got a feel for who he is. He's a humble guy from North Dakota and I'm a humble guy from Alabama. The bottom line is that I got to know him a little bit through that."

Matthews made a deal with Wentz. If the receiver listened to Jason Aldean, then Wentz needed to listen to Kanye West. Matthews thought that would help the quarterback understand his new top target.

"Kanye's good, too," Wentz said. "I still like my country, though, first."

If Wentz becomes a top 5 QB and wins a SB here, idgaf about jesus.  Same way with Dawkins.

It's not my cup of tea but I'd rather a Jesus loving killer on the field than an atheist who chokes

not sure why a player's religious beliefs mean a thing to how you view them.

I mean, you can believe what you want and all, but if I learn you're devout anything, we're probably not talking much.  Not a lot I want to hear from people who believe in magic voodoo.  It's kinda like finding out someone sells Amway.  Next.

pretty much....but more than the believing in a mystical being it bothers me because if you are super religious then theres a very good chance you are against womens rights or homophobic or you dont believe in global warming or are against birth control and i could go on and on reciting the stupid farging beliefs that religion forms in people
