wow i really like this trade....dgb will probably fail but the upside is unmistakable

I love it. Not so much because I think DGB is a future stud, but because the Eagles got rid of a known suck and replaced him with an unproven talent.

c'mon SD, you have to open your heart.

Ill be down the linc for a chairty event tomorrow. it wll be interesting to see if any players or coaches show up this year.

last season a couple ladies from the ticket office came down to help us out but said Kelly refused to allow any players or coaches to be involved.

This is true, and sad at the same time. He earned a bit of respect from me when he fired Chip after he claimed he didn't have GM duties but the franchise has been in a steady decline since 2004 (minus 2008) and he's sat back and watched it happen. They need an owner with more balls. It's fine when he has a competent football guy like Andy running the show, but he gives too much power to the wrong people.

I cant argue with any of that

my thing is he had a really good run and now is on a really bad run but because he seems like a good guy and I like everything the team stands for off the field ill give him the benefit of the doubt to get out of the rut they are in...but my patience is definitely going in the wrong direction

so how long before he pulls the plug on Howie ?

In Howie's defense, Chip left him with a mess to clean up. I like most of the personnel moves he's made. My biggest problem is the Pederson hire, I'm willing to give the guy a chance but there were better candidates available. I almost think Howie went with the guy who was as unlike Chip as possible just because.

Wentz is obviously his baby, so with him sitting a year he buys himself a year to see if he was worth the picks they gave up. Honestly I think Lurie had something to do with the Wentz pick too.

i wont claim to know how much lurie had to do with wentz but imo pederson was 100 or close to 100 percent lurie

yeah I agree the dougie hiring being more about getting as far away from anything chip. I also remember that the same people went out of their way to hire chip in the first place.

that said this has to be given some time, but its going to be rough trying to fill so many holes on offense. not to mention the CB's.

Doug could outlast him unless he is widely considered a dunce by season end.

I haven't seen anyone around the league laugh about the Eagles yet. But that's why I come here because you guys always have your finger on the pulse of the league.

This is like the sports fan version of social anxiety. You think everyone's laughing at you but most NFL don't even pay attention to the Eagles and many of those who do don't see them as an especially bad franchise. Lions, Jets, Skins... there are no shortage of mocked franchises.

Eagle fans on the other hand are widely considered a joke, for reasons that have little to do with the team itself.
