Munson

I do...his name was Andy Reid, and he was an awful game day coach.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QuoteThey're a dreadful 5-10 at home over the past two years when the rest of the league has won nearly 60 percent of their home games over that time frame. That's interesting news for a team that has a very important home game against a surging Bears team this Sunday night, right?

The dreadful 5-10 at home since 2012 is due to ...news flash... they sucked in 2012.

even zesty teams dont lose that many in a row at home....it was a franchise record...it was four off of the all time nfl record...not to mention in terms of talent they werent that bad of a team at all....the linc record has more to do than just being a bad team.....of course i dont know what that is

They texans have lost as many in a row at home this year as philly did in '12, and they will lose to denver at home tomorrow. To me it isn't a question of games in a row lost as much as the over all record for the year (or 2 year period), regardless of where those w and l fall. There are so many factors that come into play - major injuries, bad coaching, poor talent levels that are going to lose a lot regardless - it would take a staggering percent of home losses to reasonably conclude that it was the home field that made the difference rather than something else. Not saying it is impossible, or even one of many factors, but disagree with the premise the author is seeming to state.

On my Eagles desk calendar today's nugget of info reads;

"Temple coach Al Golden called safety Jaiquawn Jarrett the best tackler he'd ever been around in more than 20 years as a player and coach"

ice grillin you

im sure hed be a wonderful tackler if he could ever make it to the ball carrier
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

QB Eagles

I think that says a lot more about Al Golden than about Jaiquawn Jarrett.

All those times we attacked him while he was grabbing both a cheesesteak and a burger before his driveway situps

This guy is trying so hard to stay relevant and in the news...he must be broke.

He's trying to be a professional bowler now.

His $25M reasons to live are dwindling rapidly

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Haha yeah that's my Uncle. I posted a link in the random musings thread. It's an awesome place, and despite our frowning upon shoulder pads here, he's a really nice guy and a huge fan. Definitely deserves to win.

I don't think Westy's ever been up there, but I know the Magician has been.

Sooo...turns out Willie T himself has been a regular visitor to the "Locker Room" over the last season and a half. He and my Uncle have actually become pretty good friends over that time. My uncle had one of the fake lockers in the place decked out in Willie T gear for him, and apparently the standing O he got from everyone there gave him a case of the vapors.

Willie T returned the favor last christmas. He has a man cave/den/etc of his own in his house, and he took a picture that Sports Illustrated (or ESPN the Mag or whatever, can't remember which magazine it was) presented him when it was on the cover, and gave it to my Uncle for the Locker Room. Pretty cool of him to take the picture that was hanging in his house and give it to my Uncle.

While my Uncle didn't make it into the Fan Hall of Fame, ESPN still wants to come up and do a piece on the room. They asked who he'd like to come do it and he requested Dawk.....He's not sure if he'll get him to do the piece, but he's been talking to Thomas about bringing some of the other former players up. Apparently, one game he was up, he called my Uncle over to him and said "Who do you want to talk to?" and started going through his phone numbers, Eric Allen, Trotter, Dawk, etc. Pretty cool stuff. I haven't been able to make it up there for a game yet this year, but I'm definitely going to try and get up there for one of the playoff games to meet Thomas. He'll be up there this Sunday for the game, but I'm going to be elsewhere.

Another interesting (to me) story that came out of this is my Uncle got to meet Merrill Reese. Reese got one of his first radio gigs at a Pottstown radio station that my grandfather and grandmother used to broadcast their weekly radio show from. Apparently he remembers my grandfather very well, started singing the broadway songs my grandfather was "famous" for back then, said he used to do the radio show with him when my grandmother couldn't make it. He'd also read the advertisements during the commercial breaks on their show. According to Reese, one time while he was reading one, my grandfather came over to him with his lit cigarette and lit the copy on fire in Reese's hand while he was reading it.

I know, I know, you all care. I thought it was cool stuff.

Don Ho

Pretty cool stuff Munson.  I love that picture of Willie T. cleaning out Aikman.
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

Aikman used to take some bad beatings on the Vet turf, if you could even call it turf.

Indeed it was. If I'm not mistaken, it was a thin layer of padding under the turf over concrete. Wasn't more than half an inch.
