phillies will be under 500 this year...book it

QB Eagles

Most NFL team ticket prices are far below the profit maximizing prices. Considering that most other goods and services that we buy (and sell) throughout our lives are priced to maximize profits, I find it weird to cite ticket prices as evidence that NFL owners are greedy.

Now the money they use to build the stadiums, that is a legitimate beef.

Pretty much.  I guess you could make the argument that NFL tickets have seen price increases to the point that they are no longer affordable for low(er) income families and as a result you're seeing a "richer" and more corporate crowd in stadiums and not the "true fans" but I could really give 2 shteins if poor people can afford to go to a football game or not.  I'd rather see them have access to things like a quality education and healthcare.  I dunno, maybe my priorities are out of whack.

lower level sixer tickets are more than my eagle seats and they play 42 games and dont have the same tailgate scene either....they are cheap anyway but if you throw in the tailgate nfl seats are actually an amazing bargain

Do the Eagles even set prices for the WFC lot or get any portion of the money collected there?  That's all Comcast, isn't it?

MDS

i think theyre city controlled? either way the prices arent that bad relative to philadelphia being the 4th biggest market in the country and them needing to charge a little more on top because of how many people dont pay for parking.

see thats the thing. you dont have to park there. a lot of other stadiums leave you basically no choice. i park around 10th and oregon and walk. others uber. many take the subway. theres ways around it.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Oh, most definitely.  I just look at it like this....the lots open at 7am for a 1pm game and then I believe they open 8hrs prior to late game/prime time kickoffs, right?

So for late games, you can show up 8 hrs early and tailgate your ass off (ie: get drunk as farg in public without being harassed by the cops) for 40 bucks.  That's $5 an hour for parking (less if you factor in the additional 3-4 hrs for the game).

And while I make sure to clean up my area before I leave, people absolutely trash those lots.  I don't envy the people who gotta come through and clean that shtein up.  So for $40, you get to park pretty much AT the stadium, get loaded, grill unhealthy amounts of meat, and then leave the place looking like an abandoned Alabama trailer park.  Where the farg else you gonna stretch a dollar like that?

That's top notch bang for your buck, son.

you are focusing on time when the important thing is really people...the bang for the buck is even greater when you factor in that a tailgate might have anywhere btwn 10-30 people

parking is only 40 bucks if you dont charge anyone else for it...i dont personally charge people for my cost to park (unless they are actually in the car with me) and save the spot but i know a lot of people whose tailgates do that....if you dont drive you put in a couple bucks for parking...all of sudden 40 bucks to park is now 5 bucks

I stop by your tailgate every time I go down.  And the last time I went I met Lil Guy for the first time.  If we want to factor people into it, then I'm getting ripped off.

Oh snap!

Don Ho

shtein, made the mistake of watching the replay of Birds/Pats SB XXXIX.  Just watched from that last drive where they scored on the Lewis TD.  My God, it's still painful 12 years later.  Bed wetter playing like ass missing Westbrook wide open on a play he could have jogged in and there would have been 3:20 left on the clock with a time out and the 2:00 minute warning but the best part was listening to Buck, Aikman and Collinsworth having border line aneurysms trying to figure out why the  birds were playing with no sense of urgency.  Reid and Bed wetter summed up all in one drive.
