And if he turns out to be good?

Or would you rather them keep what they have?

Are you being intentionally obtuse? If he's good, for one year, great. They probably won't even resign him if he plays well enough to deserve a real contract. And either way it doesn't make this move any less infuriating. For a decade they have made this exact same move over and over again. Sign a guy who had some talent (not a pro-bowler, mind you, just a nice player) who is coming off of a massive injury and sell it as 'taking a shot' on a guy.

How about they make a move for a real player? A healthy player. How about they draft someone who isn't an undersized white dude?

In the exceptionally narrow way that you are looking at this, the move is fine. Their LBs suck and this is a low risk move. But it speaks to a larger fact which is that NOTHING has changed or will change about this farging team, so stop defending these nickel and dime bullshtein moves as though the front office needs you to be its white knight. It's a horseshtein signing that accomplishes nothing.

Just trying to eliminate any confusion on the matter.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

No, I'm not. I agree with you that they need to get a real player. I have been saying that for years right along with everyone else.

But I like this move on a low risk scale. That's it, nothing more. It doesn't erase the fact that they need a stud or two in the LB depth chart.

stop drinking the Kool Aid.  What you offer here is called false farging choice in academic smart pants circles.  Ask rusty, he'll explain.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
