Dead in 2011

I took her off of my list this year because, um, uh, well motherfarger I have no idea why I took her off of the list. I guess I just didn't believe that a 27 year old drug addict in the public eye would actually croak. Seemed too obvious and boring. BORING. Way to suck Amy Winehouse.

Don't know if she was anorexic, but she was an addict...of a lot of things. Drinking, drugs, etc...she was in and out of rehab and it was never successful. When sober, her music was good.

You're right. Mathmatically speaking most artists die when they're 27. Also, Brian Jones (who?) and Amy Winehouse don't belong on any list that includes those other legends.

I had always heard she had a great voice. Then it popped up on Pandora one night, and she was a talent.
Too bad she couldn't get out of her own way.

Couldn't tell you a single song of hers, which is more indicative of my age approcaching Romey-ville than her talent. Even as little as I try to pay to entertainment "news," you can't really be surprised by her death. Her life was spread out for all to see, her demons and addictions made into a gladiator spectacle.

The worst thing that can happen to many people is fame. Apprently she had talent, but couldn't handle the demands and pressures that celebrity brought with it's enticements of fame and wealth. Her self-destructive nature eventually got the best of her.

Hopefully she can rest in peace.
