Nice problem to have.  It's a great thing to have 3 receivers we can count on.  Can't recall the last time we could say that.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Allright smart ass.  Speaking of Charles Johnson, how did the birds acquire him?  I remember he played at Colorado but was he a FA pickup?  Who originally drafted him?

I believe that he was indeed a FA acquisition from Pittsburgh.  Small was also a FA acquisition from Indianapolis, IIRC.  Na Brown was drafted in the 4th round out of UNC.

Sad that I came up with all of that without any Google.

I think Johnson was a 1st rounder in pittsburgh. dont care enough to look up.

but it was probably tom modrak (lol) who brought him in

Magical_Retard

Oh yeah I mean they haven't suffered from the lack of production by Celek but I was really happy to see him become a good TE, after LJ especially. Kinda sucks that he is either forgotten or not playing as well this season.

he put himself on the map last year....defenses have to now account for him and the extra attention he is getting this year have his numbers down

i think he also played above himself last year...i suspect well find out that he isnt quite that good and that 2009 will end up being a career year for him as opposed to the norm....at the same time hes probably better than hes showing this year
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

I think hes just more in that funk that a lot of receivers go through as far as dropping the ball than the whole defenses have to account for him now theory for his numbers being down.

when youre a tight end youre acounted for. its not hard for an opposing team to see tape mid-season of a te making a lot of catches to know hes effective and make adjustments. the LB's job is to maintain coverage for the te's releasing from the line.  its not like he was ignored last year and he was just free to roam the field. He was able to beat coverage last year which makes me think he has some injuries we dont know about thats holding him back.

Chase Celek?  Brent Utley?

Maybe he's just not that good but people don't want to talk about it because he's a goofy white guy.

He's beaten coverage plenty this year too...he just drops the ball or the QB misses him

I dont know...I dont see him behind many LB's down the seam like last year or running open towards the sideline...but your second point has some validity
