Quote from: SD on September 13, 2010, 04:25:17 AM... yesterday showed his decision making isn't as bad as it was 5 years ago.

You mean, when he threw to the only covered man out of four options in the endzone?  Or on the same play, declining the open field in front of him?

So y'all still think McNabb was the SOLE reason the Eagles didn't win a SB?

Or are some of you ready to admit that yeah, that fat farging waste of air and space had a hell of a lot to do with it?

That game was maddening to watch. I loathe Reid.

I am now 100% sold that the fat ass is the reason this team never won a SB.  This shtein just gets worse every year.  The only thing saving him today is that there were so many bad games during week 1.

I enjoyed watching him look at his play calling sheet with 1:30 to go, no time outs left, didn't have the ball and the Packers were taking a knee :-D what the hell kind of play you gonna call there fat ass.

MMH

Maybe he was frustrated because the ink ran on his playcard, because it wasn't laminated.
He sure coached like it.

PG, no one EVER said McNabb was the sole reason, he played a part just like Reid.  Everyone agreed that ONE of them had to go.  I, like many fans, would have chosen Reid to go before McNabb  Once Reid was extended last year, the die was cast for Donovan to move on.

All anyone ever said this year was that it was exciting to see what a new quarterback could possibly do, especially with the skill players on this offense.  And it's way too early to be giving up on him.  I still think he'll be fine.

Everyone called for McNabb's head, NOT Reid's. Hence my reasoning behind my post (and not just here, the city's overall sentiment in general).

people starting calling for McNabb more after Reid's extension when it became clear that Reid was not going anywhere.

Plenty of us would have preferred to see Reid go over McNabb, and said so early and often.  Me, for example.

But if Reid wasn't going to go then McNabb had to.

and that was the correct decision.....but the main reason for that is because even the biggest reid haters know there is no chance of him being fired...probably ever but definitely not last year

I told myself yesterday that I wouldn't read this shtein because I knew certain people would be here crying about Kolb and McNabb and I-told-you-soing. He had one bad half of football. Made two atrocious decisions and had no time to operate in the pocket against a team that is one of the most talented in the league. Settle down, monkeys.

and this I agree with. Its just that I'd rather bang my head on a brick wall until blood flies out than watch a game with Reid as coach.

That game completely TYPIFIED an Andy Reid game. From start to finish. Blatant lack of judgment, blatant misuse of the timeouts, awful time management, awful playcalling, etc.

And rjs...its not a Kolb thing. I'm not complaining about Kolb or comparing him to McNabb. I'm talking about Reid. PERIOD.

Some of you mentioned that this season is to see if Kolb can play and that if he sucks they have to re-start. You seriously believe that? I say they give him, and they should, at least 2 seasons. They did re do his contract. Just for the love of all that makes sense run the ball and stop taking him out every other play.

It's been said here already but deserves repeating.......bad game plan for the young QB doomed Kolb's effectiveness early in that game.

I get the coaching staff wanted to protect the young QB however they did him no favors by not letting him get into a rhythm.  He played two good games last year without being fancy and shuttling in Vick.  They didn't have to do that today.

That is all on the coaches.

Props to the defensive coaches.  All in all the D played a good game.

Exactly.  The offensive coaches coached scared.  If Kolb was the man, then let him run the offense.  We will see how Vick does next week but at this point he may be the best option with a swiss cheese O-line.
