Getting Down to the 53-man Roster

So, there has already been a semi-surprise cut in Alex Hall, who will probably have 42 sacks for the Giants this year.

Who else goes and stays?

QB - Set unless Vick shoots somebody.  Then they sign Jeff Garcia.
RB - Do Martell Mallett and Eldra Buckley have a chance to beat out Charles Scott?  Would the team cut Mike Bell to go with youth?
TE - Even the 4th guy (Rucker) is supposed to be capable, but the team will obviously keep no more than 3.  Will HOF Ingram stay healthy and make it?
WR - Would the team cut Mr. Kendra Wilkinson if they like the young guys enough?
OL - Christ, I don't think they have enough guys worthy of making this team.  Do they only keep 7, and maybe try to poach a bench guy from another team?
DL - Locks, barring injury, include Cole, Bunkley, Patterson, Graham, and Tapp.  I doubt that they cut Te'O because he was drafted too early.  Parker is probably too valuable, even if they want to go young.  That's 7 guys with only two true DT's.  Dixon is probably the favorite to be the 3rd DT, but the team wants Laws to prove he's not a bust.  So, who gets pushed to make room for guys like Sapp and Owens?  There are a lot of numbers issues here.  I almost forgot about Victor Abiamiri, because he's highly forgettable.
LB - Locks are Sims and Stewart.  Fokou and Jordan are basically in also.  If they go with a lot of numbers at the DL, they may only be able to keep 5 LB's.  Keenan Clayton was the earlier pick, but Jamar Cheney might have the better pedigree.
DB - Kind of like OL, the depth is bad.  Samuel, Hobbs, Hanson, Mikell, and Allen are locks.  Doubt they cut Lindley.  Macho Harris and Quinton Demps likely figure in, but Demps could be jettisoned if he doesn't have his head on straight.  Kurt Coleman has impressed early but was drafted late enough to possibly clear waivers and make the PS.  I cry every time I hear about Geoff Pope or Dmitri Patterson "making a push."


The team has a few too many rookies this year that they won't want to expose.  There will definitely be at least one or two phantom injuries sending these guys to IR.
