he takes out blanton at like 75 pitches but leaves halladay in for 130

well clearly you go with halladay longer than you would with fatty but yeah the extremes are pretty silly

blanton had a low pitch count and one inning where he labored...however he got out of that inning with the lead and was fine

i can understand pinch hitting for him....but when you do go to the pen why go to a guy whose pitched once in the last month...he over thought the lefty lefty thing...its not like there was a man in scoring position or even on base and you wanna come in with a lefty for one batter

raul is back!
any chance they're still easing Blanton in after the injury?

he threw over 100 pitches in his last start and over 90 in his first start off the dl

I'd rather keep halladay fresh for the post season (not that their counting innings this early) especially since he hasn't pitched in the post season yet.  as you said blanton pitched out of the jam.. it's his game still.  even more so if your alternative is Antonio basticho

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

LBIggle

awesome..  1st and 3rd no out.  still no idea why they didn't try and throw soriano something soft outside after pounding him in 10 straight times

Don Ho

I've lost count of how many pitches Senor Cuba has thrown.  Holy shtein, he's going to need a roll-a-way dumpster to ice his arm after this.

thanks for swinging at that garbage.

Don Ho

No matter what i love this dude.  He just looks like a farging brute on the mound.

i like it
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Is it really too much to ask that Cole not go out and serve up at least 1 homer every game?  Is there some bass ackwards incentive clause in his contract that pays him more money for every long ball he gives up?
