During games or bad streaks when bad shtein happens I voice my displeasure and I'm a whiny bastich.

Allow me to add that I am unsure on how successful Happ is going to be. I don't like how he nibbles at the zone.

Lee was traded for a couple of reasons:

1.  The Phils didn't feel they had the $$$ to sign both Halladay and Lee for long term.
2.  The Phils weren't willing to keep Lee for one season and devastate their farm.

I don't agree with trading Lee, but I can understand it.  The Phils need to keep something for the future, because whether or not we think they can "print" money, they are not going to become the Yankees and outspend everybody.  They have about tapped out their budget, and won't go far beyond that.

The idea of having Halladay-Lee-Hamels-Blanton-etc as the rotation did give me some serious wood, though.

Dude, they won two years ago. What's that have to do with right now?

Again, that year was the best of my life and any Phils fan in our generation. But I want more. I want it again. Not a one shot wonder. Dominate when you have the ability to do so. They lost last year and I want to see them win it again. Sorry if I don't feel like they have done enough to ensure they will have the best chance right now to do that.

And the guy that won the series for them, many people wanted to run out of town. Were you a Charlie fan or did you want him throw out of the city too? Because I was one who liked him and wanted him to stick around. Does that buy me anything in your store of goodness?

Just fabulous that Chooch is hurt. They're down to Paul farging Hoover. Ruiz was starting to rip. And I picked him up in fantasy, so yeah.

Excellent news on Lidge too. I mean, whose loins don't moisten at the thought of a Durbin/Contreras/Baez/Romero closer by committee?

Phreak coming here to say "what a zesty at bat Werth had" or "Lidge looked like shtein tonight" is NOT the same as "McNabb sucks and is the sole and main reason why they never won". But it's hilarious that making comments like that are being seen as "freaking out" or "bitching". It's making an observation on the level of play going on on any given night. It don't mean the season's over and it's time to move on. Just that at the time they're playing like shtein. You know what a good place to talk about that stuff is? An internet sports message board. No shtein.

Not to mention that I love that it's okay for a team that hasn't won shtein to go with a complete unproven (Kolb), but a team that's supposed to be in the middle of a dynasty run, winning championships, gets a pass for 1. Not having, and in fact giving away, insurance incase Cole wasn't Cole (Lee) 2. Going with a complete question mark at the most important position in the bull pen. Those are the types of things that everyone here would rip the Eagles for during their "run" where they were perennial favorites every year. Placing your hopes for a championship on guys that are either inferior to other options you had, or guys that are damaged goods and/or unproven at the position. The Phillies are doing the same thing and we're gonna let it slide because they won two years ago? No, if anything, everyone should be pissed that they were in a position to be completely dominant this year and instead counted their pennies, and will probably do so again next year when they let Werth go.
