QuoteCraig Carton, host: If you're a senior citizen going to Citi Field today, be careful because K-Rod might punch you in the face.

Caller: Nah, I wouldn't worry about it Craig, the Mets haven't beaten people on back-to-back days since June.

unbelievable comments by the tranny....

The Mets believe that concentration lapses are what caused Reyes' recent struggles on defense, which include two errors in a game last week in Atlanta and another costly error Sunday in Philadelphia. Reyes, though, disagreed and seemed miffed that is what his bosses believe.

But then, in a twist that could only happen in a Mets season, the shortstop admitted to occasional mental slips on defense.

"I don't know what they see," Reyes said. "I play shortstop one way. I never try to change anything. It's hard to get ready for every pitch because how many pitches does the pitcher throw to home plate? A hundred and something? It's hard to get ready on every pitch. I try to do my best."
He added, "Maybe you are going to get lazy with two or three because it's tough to get ready all the time. It is what it is, man."

Following Reyes' tough road trip, Jerry Manuel said he would get Chip Hale, the Mets' third base coach who also handles infielders, to remind Reyes to be active and focus before each pitch. Reyes said he talks often to Hale, saying several times that Hale reminds him during games to "get ready on every pitch.

"Sometimes when I get a little lazy, he tells me to pick it up, get ready sooner."

Reyes is normally effervescent during interviews, smiling readily. But he did not smile yesterday while discussing his defense.

Asked if he was mad, Reyes said, "No, I'm OK. Chip always talks to me about that during the game and I try doing it. I made those errors in Atlanta and Philadelphia, that's not me. I can't do that. Just another thing happened. So nobody's perfect. Everybody makes a mistake.

Wow, can you imagine someone on the Phillies saying that? He'd get destroyed...by his teammates.

K-Rod tore a ligament in his thumb while punching out the old man and needs surgery, so he's done for the season...  :-D

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
