Bleacher Report on what the Eagles do with their FA's:

Sean Jones - will be re-signed unless the Eagles get Atogwe or think they can draft Mays.
Trotter - Bye-bye.
Babin - Gone.
Tracy White - Signed. He's Ike Reese Part II.
Leonard Weaver - The #1 guy the Eagles should be re-signing.
Jason Avant - The #1A guy the Eagles should be re-signing.
Ellis Hobbs - Most likely gone, unless there isn't a market for him.
Nick Cole - Only if the Eagles get him cheap, otherwise let him walk.
Alex Smith - Gone.
Gaither - See ya.
Max Jean-Gilles - Adios.
Chris Gocong - 50/50 shot at staying or going. Back as a back up, but nothing more.
Sav Rocca - Likely will stay. How much of a market is there for punters?
Akeem Jordan - Probably will be back.

My opinion:

Sean Jones - bring him back for depth or to push Quintin Mikell at SS. Jones is way better in the box. Gotta go after a big time FS, ATogwe would be awesome.

Trot - love ya, but they need studs at LB

Babin - Don't care, depth if anything. Go after Peppers.

White - Sign him

Weaver - must sign

Avant - must sign

Hobbs - sign him; his KOR ability is sorely needed

Cole - agree, only sign him on the cheap, good depth

Alex Smith - beat it

Gaither - bye

MJG - get out

Gocong - STs and depth only

Rocca - bring him back. After being a hater for the most part of the year and then finding out that it was Daisher who was limiting him, I want to see him get a shot learning under April.

Jordan - bring him back

No doubt. Every time Macho returned a kick I expected a fumble - dook just holds the ball so far away from his body. And what the farg was up with Buckley not letting Maclin return any kick?

SunMo

because he knew that Maclin was scared as shtein to get drilled
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

rjs246

Yeah, Maclin didn't exactly light world on fire when he did actually return kicks...
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

DGunn covered this team every week for the last 6 months and thinks a big WR is their #1 priority?

Didinger says LDE, safety and a playmaking OLB are the highest priority, but he thinks this will be Kolb's team now...

Sgt PSN

the only "priority" they should have when it comes to receivers is re-signing avant and then getting him on the field more often.

No it should be bringing in a new kick arse Defensive coordinator to actually replace JJ and really stand shoulder to shoulder with Reid.

They need a new philosophy that teams have not deciphered.  This guy did a laudable job in his first year but every team in the league knows that all you need is a savy vet Qb that can get the ball out of his hands quickly and you can simply discect this defense.

True but the system worked better with Dawk.....the system could still work with a playmaker at safety...and as already mentioned upgrades at OLB and LDE would be a big help too.

Abiamiri looked pretty good this year but he seemed to wear down getting moved to the middle so much on passing downs.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

ok.  but what does that have to do with receivers?  read easy's post above mine and you'll be able to put 2 and 2 together.

Yeah I was kinda saying no to both premises.  Since you were responding to him I figured two and two to have already been put together.

Unless they are gonna get Jackson from San Diego or the knucklehead from Denver I would rather see them put an all world D-coordinator in there tocompletely re-work the defense.

Dude came from a tiny, tiny school, so it's no shock he didn't get looked at by the NFL.

Granted, it's against some CFL scrubs, but he shows some pretty awesome vision on cutbacks and looks like he has a pretty good burst.
