According to GCobb, Weaver will sign a 3 year deal today. He also says Peppers is visiting Chicago today, but if he doesnt sign, he's visiting Philly after.

yeah i can not see anyway that the eagles would let weaver go. he goes way beyond what he does as a fullback.

While I like this signing and think that Weaver is a good player, why does everyone care this much about a FB who is this lightly used?

Don't get me wrong I liked what he did last year and like how he fits into the offense, but what I really want is for the team to use the fullback position for some actual blocking on running plays and that isn't going to happen no matter who they have on the roster so overall I give this signing a big meh.

There's no such thing as "fullbacks" anymore. He's a RB and a pretty good one.

and its not official until spads writes his piece about how the eagles dont believe there is anyone on the open market that can help them and instead they wanted to concentrate on retaining their own players which is what they are doing a great job at

I could have sworn Jason Babin signed a 4 year extension after making the team last year...Now I see he has visits scheduled. The guys tatts were better than the way he played, so I could care less, but I'm pretty sure I remember that..

yeah thats what i was wondering.  easily the most used of any FB in the Andy era and I can't imagine more than 1 or 2 FBs in the entire league had more carries than him last year.
