youre something else j...11 wins?....you know that means 6-1 to finish?

This team is certainly "capable" of a 6-1, 5-2 finish against that schedule. There are no world beaters at all there and I believe they're talented enough for that. Thing is, consistent inconsistency, bad coaching/playcalling and dumb penalties will likely weigh them down and prevent that from happening. I'll all but guarantee that we'll be saying this team couldve won 10 games if they had only beaten the farging Raiders.

there are 20 teams in the nfl capable of going 6-1 the rest the way and none of whom will....the eagles are one of these teams

the thing that people always do is look at the eagles schedule and say there are no great teams there without realizing the eagles are one of those teams that arent great and every team on the eagles schedule is looking at the birds as a win

hell the eagles couldnt even go 6-1 against the part of the schedule they had a legitimate shot to do so

Yeah, they didn't go 6-1 because of the things I mentioned. Not because they were straight up overmatched (other than the Saints game). Their talent level is on par with or better than just about everyone else they've played. are there weak players getting snaps that shouldn't be? Hell Yeah. But so does just about every other team in the league.  Coaching/playcalling has snakebitten this team for years and you can't tell me that a better coach wouldn't have this tram in a better position. Oakland wouldn't have happened. Dallas probably wouldn't have happened.

oh i totally agree with all that but at the same time the eagles didnt overmatch the skins or raiders...the eagles arent significantly better than anyone left on their schedule and no team is significantly better than them...thats why something around .500 seems right...of course theres a plus or minus of two wins either way depending on all kinds of factors but to say 6-1 (or even 1-6) is crazy imo

Don't get it twisted, I don't think they're going 6-1. No chance in hell. But that's because I don't think they're going to all of a sudden fix the problems that have plagued them half the season/decade. I'm just saying that they could do it (and I would even be confident about them doing it) with better guidance from better coaching. I'm not even talking Cowher/Dungy/Belichick level coaching either. A Tomlin/Fisher/Coughlin...hell, even a John Fox would be better.

i dont know why but hearing john foxs name reminds me of the thing that andy did on sunday that makes me the most mad that has kind of gone unoticed...and that is not using shady on the goal line...

he is by far the best short yardage guy on the team...he hits holes really well and has great small space change of direction...two things imo that are more important than size down at the goaline...but because he cant blitz protect he doesnt get in there but eldra farging buckly does?....that just enrages me

I can honestly say the Eldra Buckley play made me laugh because I was already in "farg it" mode after that tired ass rollout to the TE play to the short end of the field. They've been running that play at the goalline for YEEEEARS!(Both Chad Lewis TD's in the '04 NFCCG) When that play failed Sunday, I knew Andy was out of ideas and was gonna pull some bullshtein on 3rd down.

I agree. You gotta get a guy like Shady the ball at some point In that situation because he's one of their playmakers. The Chargers were selling out up the gut so Shady at least gives you the opprtunity to bounce it outside and beat a guy to the pylon. It amazes me (well, actually it doesn't anymore) how Andy seems to refuse to get the ball to his best players at some of the most crucial times. He did it Sunday in SD with Shady, he did it last week against Dallas with Pimp on a 3rd and long...he's done it with Westbrook over the years.

If you're gonna get beat, you gotta get beat using your best players.

shady is a better btwn the tackles runner than an outside guy thats why id rather have him in there...especially when your line is getting pushed back he can shift and plunge like he does so well...weavy or buckley are running straight ahead with no plan b hole or no hole and whatever happens happens

but really the reason mccoy wasnt in makes me far more angry than him not being in in the first place

At this point I say flip a coin between 6-10 and 10-6. I'll say this also, has anyone entertained the thought of Vick starting at qb? How much worse could it get?

Tomahawk

A lot worse - as inaccurate as McNabb is, Vick is even less accurate. Plus he doesn't look to have the same wheels anymore

shorebird

Yeah, you're right, but now I'm grasping at straws. The only thing that would really make this team better and give me something to look foward too would be for Lurie to get his head outta' his ass and replace Reid. Make him GM, or just let him go home and take care of his family.

Don Ho

9-7, 10-6 if the Mayan gods are watching.

its hopeless to even predict individual games with this team they are so up and down...lose to the raides beat the giants by 23...what that means to me is at or close to a .500 team...which is what they finish up with...either 4-3 or 3-4 to end at 9-7 8-8

More hope than anything else. Gotta hold onto something.

$25 they dont win 10 games
$25 they dont make the playoffs

lets do it son

Ah why the hell not.

Bet.

Being a Shady fan, I want him to do well. But he dances a tad bit too much for my liking. I don't know if that has to do with him being a rookie and being unsure of cut back lanes and whatnot, but he seems to want to bounce it outside too much. And although he hasn't coughed it up yet - I can't shake the feeling that until he changes the way he slings that ball out there, someone's gonna pop it loose.

And at the worst time imaginable.

ice grillin you

he might dance a little to much because every time he gets the ball theres three defensive lineman in the backfield
