because like this team, they are usually underdog stories who come out of nowhere.  except for the 04 Eagles, 08 and 09 Phils, this is pretty much the case

Holmgren would have selected JVR anyway, he's stated that several times. Some people say "he's just saying that" but many people close to the team confirmed he would have been the pick regardless.

Might be time to revisit that Carter for Vokoun deal

It is just amazing to me how awful Leighton was in this series.  How many godawful goals he let in in the last 7-plus periods of hockey that were played.  He let in two in the third period in Game 4, three or four in game 5 and now three tonight.

Absolutely hideous.

Relax everybody, they'll be back next year. All they gotta do is get into the playoffs via a shootout, miraculously avoid playing the Caps or Pens, win a series or two after being down 0-3, and they'll be right back in the Finals.

yeah, this was lightning in a bottle...they aren't a team trending upwards with huge questions at goalie, aging defense, and maxed out with the salary cap
