how could anyone watch that series and think boucher made great saves...hes played perfect positional goaltending but didnt ever really stand on his head...the flyers defense protected him to a tee and he did what he should after that.,..which was not give up any softies

but in terms of "playing out of his mind"...thats laughable...brodeur made way more great saves...but he also let in a lot of soft shtein

post meaningless stats tho without watching the game like you should

his numbers are great because every defenseman and most every forward played to their utmost in the defensive zone

they were PERFECT...which is what they had to do when a guy like boucher is behind you

haha, i'm not even a Boucher fan, but even I can admit the guy was out of his mind.

IGY are you seriously discrediting Boucher? He played out of his mind. There were times in the first few games that he had to stand on his head for stretches when it was like a shooting gallery. Including the gazillion PPs for the Devils.

The guy was arguably the worst starter in the league down the stretch and is now the hottest goaltender in the NHL. That's playing 'out of your mind' by his standards.

You just said a mouthful. I'd rather have a guy (like a Broduer) who is a perfect positional goalie than one that's unorthodox and flops around but makes tremendous saves.

id rather have a guy that wins...but my point is boucher as good as he was didnt win any games himself...the team was phenominal and the devils were a joke

all he did was be in  the right position for shots that were kept on the perimieter by the outstanding defense and bury them in his belly

he was terrific in not giving rebounds...which i put in the solid category not out of your mind category

I didn't see any of the first two games because I was out of town, but the last 3 were pretty dull despite all the penalties being called on the Flyers.  I agree with igs....Boucher stopped most of what was thrown at him, but it's not like he was doing this all series:



Ryan Miller and Craig Anderson have arguably been more stellar and their teams have lost 3 times.  It's been Pronger, Timonen and the rest of the defense that have stepped up big time....especially Coburn, who most people gave up on...
