I think Sal Pal wants to blow Garcia.

He was doing on spot at the end of SC this morning and talked about how Garcia will be the back up this week, but the real fun starts after this week to see how the QB drama plays out. Why drama? Because according to Sal, Garcia is one of the most beloved sports figures in the history of Philadelphia....no joke.

Sal's still salty his "McNabb won't be back" prediction of three years ago still hasn't rang true.

Jeff Garcia can go ahead and splurge on a big ticket gift for his former Playboy playmate wife this week because he's guaranteed one more paycheck from the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the team will pay Garcia's salary next week even if Michael Vick is activated and Donovan McNabb is healthy enough to play against the Chiefs. On Sportscenter, Schefter said that meant Garcia's spot on the roster is secure but that seems like an unsafe assumption.

If McNabb is healthy and ready to play next week, it would be surprising if the Eagles devoted four roster spots to quarterbacks. If anything, the schedule, not the salary, could keep Garcia in Philly for another week. The Eagles have a bye following their date with the Chiefs which may affect the way they handle McNabb's return, especially if Kevin Kolb shows he can handle the job against the Saints on Sunday.
