That's pretty chippy, well done.

Also...you have far too much free time.  Don't you have children that need a father, or something?  Maybe a ride somewhere?

Not really.  My kids already have you looking after them.

I was reading back in this thread to this time in 2011.  Same farging bullshtein with the USMNT.   I thought Klinsmann would have elevated that team much further than he has.  Same story, though.  They string together a bunch of meaningless wins against big teams in friendlies that aren't playing their "A" squads, then under-perform in tournaments that actually matter.

That Jamaica loss was a freaking disgrace, and honestly, it should have gotten him canned, but Gulati is riding high with the women's team's success and he's not gonna pull the trigger on Jurgen any time soon.

They're just treading in the same lousy pool year after year with no end in sight.

Oh, and the fans were terrible in Atlanta too.  Dead silent.  Can't blame them, though.

Diomedes

US Soccer is still decades behind everyone else.  It's gonna be okay.

The men are.  That's for damn sure.

MDS

theyve made no real improvement since the quarterfinal run in 2002

remember that year us soccer was a shell of what it is today in terms of fan interest, financial investment in the program, exposure, talent pool, etc. 13 years later theyre getting soundly beat by farging jamaica, struggling with haiti, incapable of playing against even the most average of UEFA sides.

its easy to blame jurgen...his roster was unimaginative...but really we are what we are. our best athletes arent playing soccer and they never will. but concacaf is a farce on top of being rather weak, so every 4 years will result in a world cup berth and soccer is a random enough sport where you can get lucky and win some games. thats the hope.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

About 50 pages and several years back someone posted that tip-toeing into the inner cities might not be a bad idea for these colossally stupid farging iceholes if they're trying to lure talent.   I mean, Mommy car-pool soccer fun time league where everyone gets a farging trophy out in Cherry Hill is nice, but if you're trying to get 25 men to represent your country and actually win something, you have to look other places.

Look, I applaud Klinsmann for at least looking elsewhere.  He's raided Europe looking for modestly talented guys who may or may not have had sluts for mothers who banged airmen at bars outside American Air Bases in Germany 20 years ago.  I'll at least give him that.  But it doesn't matter what set-up or style or alignment the guy plays if the players suck and this group is just mehhhhh.

I don't know, maybe he thought he could skate thru this joke of a tournament playing the young guys at the back and sending Jozy home, and maybe the Cool Runnings guys won the one game out of twenty they'd play against the U.S. and have a shot at winning.  Bottom line is they looked just lousy the other night and there's no excuses either.  Jamaica is a "C" level team and they flat-out got beat by them.

MDS

jozy is trash....hes never done anything. hes always injured or he spends 90 minutes not scoring goals. not everyone is good enough at soccer to compete at a world class level.

i dont pretend to be an expert about this stuff, but guys like morris and wood made plays during the spring friendlys. ive never seen zusi, beckerman, etc. even do that. why do they got spots? beats me.

theres a couple of promising teenagers they scooped up. we said the same thing about julian green 1 year ago and that farger had a dreadful year.

Regardless how insignificant the contact, isnt' it always awkward to engage someone who is doing work to embarrass himself at the time?

Anytime you look at Dempsey or Klinsmann is awkward because Dempsey looks weird and Klinsmann is a beautiful man.
