The only improvement they have made so far IMO is get younger at the tackle position with the potential that the new guys will be better.

So that brings the offense back to the level that it was at when they lost to the Cardinals. They need a #2 RB badly.

Exactly.  They're younger along the O-line and that's well and good... but the way I see it, they've done a damn good job of replacing the holes they created by letting Tra, Runyan, Buck and Dawkins walk.  I like the Jones and Weaver signings which should provide stability at those positions at the very least.

Great, now we're back to the 9-7, 10-6 level the team was at last year.  What's next?  Where are the playmakers that are going to help this team to the 12-4 level it needs to be a legit SB contender?  When I see that, then I can give them props for a great offseason.

I really want Moreno, i'm not a fan of how upright he runs, but the guy would be a good fit in this offense

Agreed.  He's one of those RB's who get every yard out of his runs, always falling forward and rarely does the 1st guy bring him down.

I disagree. The OL really played poorly for a lot of last year and I think Peters/Andrews will be an upgrade at tackle. Getting Shawn Andrews back helps too. They also added a FB who can block, catch and run the ball a little. There's at least better depth at safety and for all we know Sean Jones could be an upgrade over Dawkins. As of right now I think this team is better than the one that lost the NFCCG and that's pre-draft.

until andrews knee doesnt explode again and peters doesnt give up a million sacks again and both play better than tra and runyan the offensive line is certainly not better

Runyan and Tra were finished so replacing them was a must. The f/o couldn't have done a better job of replacing them. They signed the top OT on the market and traded for the top OT available in a trade. Whether they perform up to their capability is a different story but they were the two best options out there.

right but we have no idea if they are better than tra and hairy back

That's irrelevant now, they were fa's and are well past their prime. There was option A: Re-signing 35 year old Tra to a 3 year deal, and re-signing 35 year old Runyan who's having surgery. Or option B: get two guys who are younger and sign them to long term deals. Maybe they're better, maybe they're not, but they needed replacement tackles and got the best that was available. I never thought Tra or Runyan were particulary good at sealing the edge on running plays. I know this is a pass happy offense and in pass protection they were both fine players.

how good the offensive line is going to be is certainly not irrelevant

Can you believe how miserable he'd be if Peters were a white guy?

Do you know football or are you just talking out your arse again?  The line play goes a long way to determine who wins or loses.  A O-line that gives the QB time to make plays and opens holes for the RB to make plays is the team that wins is usually the team that wins.  The team that can't protect or run the ball usually loses...

Umm they did not need to create two holes/needs.

Runyan and Thomas played hurt but still anchored a good offensive line...doing what it does most...pass block. Yeah they were not opening up huge running lanes but Buck seemed to always find positive yardage when he got his weekly 2 carries. Westbrook was hurt plus Reid did not call running plays like he always ignores it. Trying to paint the offensive line as a weakness is the FO myth. Yeah they are old and Runyan is coming off of surgery so it makes sense to get younger but it was not the BIGGEST weakness of offense.

They could have re signed Tra while signing Stacy to replace Runyan. You can still have 2 first round draft picks to maybe select two skill positions or trade for a WR. It seems more like they are intent on being set at the position for the next 4-6 seasons rather than loading up for this coming season. Which would be fine cept McNabb is 33 not 23.

You'd have to replace Tra within the next season or two, they didn't 'create' two holes because both players were f/a's.

I actually just sat through the entire Banner/Spadaro interview on PE.Com.  It's my way of doing penance for cheering for the Magic vs. the Sixers.
