i turned it on for ot. didnt even know it was happening. but that doesnt take away from the "6 is more than 3" discussion you math wizards just had.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

again you didnt watch it

miami's first play in OT was a 21 yard run to the four....you HAVE to score a td after that...its not like they went three and out

PhillyPhreak54

lol at Todd...get in the game. They had to score a TD there. Total choke to not punch it in from the 4.

MDS

if they play some d its all good. i understand the point you were making but it came across as obvious and bland, ala tim mccarver.

Anyone watching this Florida-MSU game?

MSU had a chance and ran a fake punt; dude had the corner and tripped. Tunrover on downs and Florida has taken over. Although the goddamn SEC refs farged up another one. Leon Lett was going into score for the Gators and Don Beebe knocked the ball out but they said TD anyways.

if you get big ten network put it on real quick

They couldn't move the ball all game long and go 68 yards in a minute and a half?!

I hate Comcast....one of the many channels, Big10, that is not in HD.

QuoteLomax, a Bloomfield High School graduate who works in information technology, goes by the nickname "Pooda." He last logged into his MySpace page in March, when he listed his occupation as "taking care of my daughter."

On his Facebook page, Lomax's friends include Muhammad and 21-year-old Johnny Hood of Hartford, who was arrested shortly after the stabbing and faces charges of breach of peace and interfering with police. He was pointed out to police by Brian Parker, another UConn football player who suffered minor injuries in the attack.

Help me out here Todd, what's the purpose of this information? Why is myspace and facebook included in these types of stories?

MDS

theres a fine line some people cross and some people dont

basically anything on facebook or myspace is public information, but it is not confirmed via the direct source. so, its an easy way of getting some info about a person, but you cant just present it as a fact since its all unconfirmed.

sometimes its lazy, sometimes its all you got to go with (like here, this guy aint talkin nor are any of his boys). if im the reporter i check out the pages and if something is really noteworthy or interesting, i reference it. but i just dont throw it in there because i can. his myspace occupation and the fact that hes facebook friends with the other people arrested doesnt qualify as interesting. if he said on myspace something like "i aint do nothin" or "goin 2 party @ uconn 2nite," then you reference it. it doesnt prove anything, but its certainly noteworthy to mention.

I gotcha.

I just can't stand the whole myspace/facebook/twitter references on the fly without pertinent info included on those sites.

MDS

some of it is the mislead nature of editors who think that referencing social networking sites will somehow bring in younger readers and save their dying industry. it wont. and they dont care. so they encourage it.

some of it is reporters being lazy. some of it is them not knowing any better, because, and i can personally vouch for this, sometimes people who have no idea what theyre doing get hired.
