so what is it....not talking what it contributes to the country or anything like that....just which state is the most unknown/insignificant...

i think north dakota is the clear winner....other than the movie fargo which primarily took place in minnesota is there a single thing this state is known for

the only other options were sd (mount rushmore gives it the advantage over nd)...idaho (they have potatoes and boise)...wyoming (yellowstone)...rhode island (the smallest state)

Delaware, i hate that place.  I would have to say North Dakota or Wyoming for the middle of the country, and Rhode Island for the east coast

delaware could be up there for the worst state but being the first state it could never be the most irrelevant...no way wyoming...yellowstone and the national parks there make it very well known

more i think about it it might be rhode island...the movie fargo may give north dakota a slight advantage...people on the east barely know anything about rhode island...but if they do its only because of proximity...imagine if rhode island was btwn oregon and washington

Vermont has less people in it than most suburbs.

I don't actually believe that Arkansas exists because I've never set foot there and never met anyone who has ever been there.

Rhode Island shouldn't even exist. There is less than nothing there.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

vermont has maple syrup which all by itself gives it a failry significant thing to be known by

arkansas would be a great call and maybe the winner pre bill clinton...but also arkansas has a state school that is relevant in sports...this is where north dakota moves past a lot of states in terms if irrelvance...university of north dakota FTL

I once believed in causes too,

Rhode Island was the first state to outlaw slavery.  It's capital is a cool city that has good schools (RISD, Brown, Johnson&Wales).  Providence has tons of good restaurants, even if it is a sleepy town.

It's also a major sailing hub, which draws a lot of different people and culture to the state.

and none of those things (cept perhaps sailing) make it even a little bit known around the country...im not asking what is the best or worst state....i do think of sailing when i think rhode island...and maybe that puts it behind north dakota...but im not sure

is sailing > fargo in terms of significance

new mexico isnt a bad one but

roswell > fargo

the pit > anything sports related having to do with north dakota

theres also something mystical about the southwest part of this country with the deserts and mountains together along with the sunsets and new mexico along with arizona soley carry that torch...where as theres like 10 other states that are flat and barron like north dakota
