his movies were great in the beginning:

ferris bueller, breakfast club, uncle buck, weird science, mr mom, nat'l lampoon's vacation, etc, etc. 

i have no farging clue what posessed him to write FIVE farging beethoven movies or 2 sequels to home alone.  not to mention that flamming hot piece of crap maid in manhattan. 

his career seems to have died when he was involved with the last "great" movie of his career, which was about 20 years ago.  took him long enough to finally catch up.

but his early work did produce some of my favorite movies.
