Conflicting reports emerge on death of Jets owner's daughter

When we received the e-mail from TMZ.com announcing the exclusive news that Casey Johnson, the 30-year-old daughter of Jets owner Woody Johnson, had died, we decided that it didn't merit a mention.

But then we checked the Twitter page of Casey Johnson's fiancee, Tila Tequila (yep, the same one), who says that Johnson is actually in a coma and not dead.

Casey Johnson was arrested in November for grand theft, after allegedly stealing items from a former girlfriend.

We'll provide further updates a events warrant.

UPDATE:  The New York Daily News also reports that Casey Johnson has died.  "The Johnson family is mourning its tragic loss, and asks for privacy during this very difficult time," a spokesman for Woody Johnson said in a statement.

This story has the potential to get a lot more farged up before it gets cleared up. Tila Tequila is the chickie who accused Shawne Merriman of holding her hostage but came out looking like a flake and gold digger. I take it if they really were fiancee, it's in a state with gay marriage.
