QuoteAccording to Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com, the Ravens didn't take kindly to remarks from Keyshawn Johnson and Cris Carter in a recent conference call, during which Johnson at one point said of quarterback Joe Flacco, "You want a bum, you pay a bum."

"Keyshawn Johnson is the bum, that's why he's in the analyst seat," receiver Derrick Mason told Freeman.  "He tried to come back to football but no one would sign him.  He was never that good a player.  He got lucky and signed on in Tampa Bay and won a Super Bowl because they had a great defense.

"Just look at the two people doing the criticizing, that's all I'm saying.  Keyshawn was overrated and Carter is in the same boat I'm in.  He doesn't have a Super Bowl ring either.  He's in the analyst seat without a ring.  At least I'm playing.  He still wants to play but he can't anymore.  We're the bums?  That's why you're in the analyst seat.  Just be quiet and keep dreaming you still could play."

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QuoteBills "fan" vandalizes McKelvin's lawn
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 15, 2009 8:30 PM ET
There's no denying that the Buffalo Bills have one of the most loyal and knowledgeable NFL fanbases in the country.

But even the best group of supporters has a few lunatics that make sports fans as a whole look bad.

One of those wackos decided to vandalize Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin's home by painting the final score of Monday night's game and obscenity into McKelvin's lawn.  McKelvin had a costly fumble on a kick return late in Monday night's game that set up the Patriots for the game-winning score.  The lawns of the rest of the defense were spared.

(Seriously, where does this rage come from regarding sports?  It's sports! The vitriol inspired by pro teams amazes me, and this is coming from someone obsessed enough to spend the great majority of my hours on Earth covering the minutia of a game.  Soap box rant over.)

The Hamburg, New York police declined to give any more details on their investigation, such as what word was written in to the lawn.

McKelvin believes his short memory will help him get past Monday's mistake, and presumably the reaction to it.

at least he did say "go home, negro," so that's a step up for buffalo
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Former No. 2 overall pick Charles Rogers was arrested for DUI Wednesday when police discovered him unresponsive behind the wheel of his Mercedes.
On a Wednesday afternoon, Rogers was passed out drunk with his car in gear. He was stopped in a left-turn lane, and firefighters had to gain access through the sunroof. Rogers recently began a comeback attempt and nearly signed with the CFL.

When someone asks you flat out if you have been sober since your rehab and you squirm in your seat, cover your mouth, then say no I've been good...take care.

He was only trying to play again because he has to re-cake the Lions his signing bonus.

Corey Webster and Santana Moss fined $5K a piece for fighting.

Apparently, the NFL thinks end zone celebrations are worse than fighting.
