Like the article said, he was the Raven's first round pick in 03, and was slated to be offensive genious Brian Billeck's quarterback of the future, and all he did was eventually help get Billeck fired.

and he threw a football 50 yards...........from his knees.  apparently he did other things well from his knees too, because no way should he have ever been taken in the first round.

I'd much rather have Kolb as a backup.  Much!

Hahaha! Yeah, he didn't get any blocking from his line either. I remember a few games were he got beat the farg up. I think the guy the Ravens have now has the chance to be one hell of a qb. He throws one of the prettiest passes I've ever seen. His spiral is so tight you can barely tell the ball is spinning. If the Ravens gm Newsome can get this man a good wr, they'll be ready to make a Superbowl run again.

Sgt PSN

yeah, flacco looks like he's got a good career ahead of him.  hopefully harbaugh (who i'm very happy for, btw) didn't pick up any of reid's stubborness when it comes to addressing the wr position.

I'm happy seeing Harbaugh do well also. I like the Ravens for an AFC team, even if they do have one of the NFL's biggest thugs at linebacker.

The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

QuoteThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended the contract of their newest acquisition, Kellen Winslow Jr., by giving him the biggest contract for a tight end in NFL history.

Winslow joins the Bucs

NFL.com Video

Kellen Winslow speaks to the media after being traded from Cleveland to Tampa Bay.

Winslow, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, agreed to a six-year, $36.1 million deal that includes $20.1 million in guarantees. With incentives, the deal could grow to $42.1 million.

The Bucs acquired Winslow in a trade with the Cleveland Browns last month. He caught 43 passes for 428 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games last season. He has a total of 219 catches for 2,459 yards and 11 touchdowns in 44 career games.

He was the sixth pick in the 2004 draft, rated as one of the best tight ends to go from college to the pros. His knee was damaged severely in a 2005 motorcycle accident, but after his recovery, Winslow re-established himself as one of the league's top tight ends.

Now, he's paid like one.
