Leroy Hill returns to the Seahawks....6-yr deal

I guess it's not always a slap in the face when the franchise tag is removed, then.

Under the right circumstances, it could be a meaningful display of good faith.

QuoteLONDON -- London has launched an audacious bid to stage the Super Bowl within the next eight years, a move that would see the United States' biggest sporting event played overseas for the first time, the Sunday Telegraph has reported.

According to the newspaper, representatives from the Mayor of London's office and Visit London, the city's official visitor organization, have received assurances from the National Football League of a commitment to hold the event in London.

The NFL has already staged two sellout regular-season games at Wembley Stadium, with a third scheduled for this October.

"We are looking at 2014, 2015 or 2017," David Hornby, the commercial director for Visit London was quoted as saying.

Talks have been ongoing with the NFL, which has identified London as the outstanding candidate city to host the event outside of the United States, according to the report.

The newspaper added the event could be worth $521.1 million to the economy, although they also quote an unnamed NFL spokesman as saying: "The suggestions about London are only theoretical. There is no bid document."

However, Wembley Stadium commercial director Jonathan Gregory said: "We will do everything we can to work with the NFL and help bring this amazing event to London."

Last week, commissioner Roger Goodell said the league is not considering playing its championship game in London.

"We have never looked at London or Mexico City as a site," he said.

The field at Wembley was horrendous for that Giants/Dolphins game.  This is basically the worst idea ever.

Agreed.  Although they should go ahead with it... watch the disaster unfold... and then at least we won't have to hear about this shtein anymore.

best case scenario...

Eagles lose to the Giants in the NFCCG that year and the Giants play the Steelers in the UK Superbowl.  Donovan is cut, Reid is fired, there is a terrorist nuclear attack and both hated organizations as well as 90,000 or so limey fargs are wiped off of the face of the earth.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

why would i be at a Giants/Steelers superbowl in London?

They showed that at the end of NFL Total Access the other night.  Baldy was one of the hosts and he showed his pinky which looks the same way.

If that's real... I'm amazed that he can still catch a damn football with claws like that.
