Well, that's what I'm saying.  Some of us might actually be alive for the next one.  Although, I hear gubment jobs are less stressful, so you may outlive all of us.

I like Coburn but he's also an F/A this upcoming season and he's nowhere near the player Bouwmeester is. Florida was dumb not to get what they could for him cause there's 0 chance he re-signs there.

he's signed thru 2011 i thought.  Either way, i'd rather get Coburn signed, and see if you can get Boumeester in July

Last time I checked the Flyers should have around $2.5 available next season. They're already gonna lose Knuble, Upshall is history, do they trade a guy like Lupul for picks to clear the space? That depletes the forward spot unless JVR comes up and we know that's no given. As much as I think Bouwmeester is a perfect fit here they need to address the Goalie situation first. I wish there were a team that would take Briere.

Same here SD.  I'd be happy if they could trade Briere and resign Upshall on the cheap.  He's going to get maybe at the max 2 mill a year.  Whats scary is the cap is going to go down next year

FWIW:

The reason the Flyers asked for an extension on the deadline.....
Deal was in place to trade for Kari Lehtonen. Flyers would not send in the trade to the league until they had a contract extension with Lehtonen done. They could not settle on the number of years so they had to pull the deal off the table.

Flyers want him, he wants to be a Flyer. It is highly likely that he will be traded for on draft day for Lupul.

I have a source that hits me with some stuff from time to time. Pretty solid. I trust him pretty well as he has no reason to be lying to me and isn't even really an active member. He used to give me a lot of info on the Lindros saga and we stay in touch.

So take it for what it is worth but the request for the deadline extension was not for Bouwmeester. Although I still feel they will target him in the offseason.

Big game tonight against Calgary.  First game for Ollie for the Flames. 

I'm not sure of the exact timeframe SD, i know they've had deals go thru as last as 5:30, when the deadline is 3pm.  I'd love to see Holmgren fleece Waddell again.

Calgary is literally skating circles around the Flyers. 4-0 after the 1st. Flyers look like complete dogshtein. Jokinen already has 2 goals, no doubt he gets the hatrick
