He's got to be a better fighter than Cote.

he wins more but he doesnt fight anyone...cote gets blugeoned but he fights the best of the best...this cat is a lightweight and stays in his division

they had no cap space for injury call ups, so they had to do something

if someone is hurt their salary comes off the books...plus you could have like dis said cut any number of players like a cote to give yourself wiggle room in the casse of short term injuries
A rare trade farg-up by Homer.   smells more like a Clarke deal.

Why give up a 2nd too, they got robbed

it only comes off the books if they are on the long term injury list...so if somebody is out for a few games, like Kimo with the flu...you are screwed up and forced to send legit players like Giroux down.

farg upshall, what did he ever do?  this dude is a hitter, fighter, pain in the ass....it's basically a wash with more cap space
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

And Carcillo will spend more time in the box than on the ice....unless we count on getting more shorthanded goals, THIS MOVE IS A DISGRACE!
Plus we gave up a 2nd round pick, WTF!

my issue is how much Carcillo is gonna play, you gave up a 2nd and Upshall for a 4th liner and a little cap wiggle.

The 2nd was probably thrown in to get Phoenix to take the salary back.  goonboy makes under $1M and is signed for next season.  This guy was traded by the Penguins 2 years ago for Georges Laraque....

right so you cut a cote type if you need a little short term wiggle room...none of the guys youd call up for a short term injury replacement make any money anyway...if thats really why they made this trade its major overkill

and im not a huge upshall guy but hes a damn good 4th liner...not many teams have that kind of guy that deep in their lineup...its one of the things that seperates the flyers from a lot of other teams

Upshall was huge in the playoffs, the type who's game rises.  He was great last year especially the Montreal and Caps series.  Carcillo will see 3 minutes a game under Stevens, and TSN has the flyers giving up the 2nd IGY.
