Clifton Brown from The Sporting News has pretty much the same outlook towards the Eagles as fans here at CF, but says it's not too late.

QuoteMcNabb caught some flak for taking his concerns public, writing on his blog that he was "embarrassed," by the Eagles' performance. What's wrong with that? He told his teammates the same thing. And anyone who does not think the Eagles are in deep trouble has not checked out the NFC East standings.
Apparently, Andy Reid doesn't look at or know what place the Eagles currently occupy in the NFC East.

QuoteIt is not too late for the Eagles. They begin a crucial three-game stretch Sunday on the road against the 49ers (2-3). That is followed by their bye, a home game against the Falcons, and a road game against the Seahawks. That is the softest part of the Eagles schedule, giving them a chance to reach 5-3 before hosting the Giants in Week 10.

.......a chance to be 5-3 before losing too the Giants?

The Giants?!? I'm just hoping that they can beat the Niners without Bwest. The Fortyniners are just about a mirror image of the Eagles up to this point in the season. They flat out blew a game last week against the Patriots. Their defense is giving up big plays and way too many points. Their offense is erratic as hell. Sound like any other team you know?

I don't know what to expect from this team after the last two games. I know they should beat the Niners, but have no idea wether they will or not. This team, up 'till now, has found more ways to lose games than they've found to win games.

I was going to reply to the other stuff in your post, but this struck me a bit. I don't feel that this team in it's current state should be anyone other than the dregs of the NFL (see: Rams, Lions, etc.) The Niners have gotten better than last year, which makes them mediocre - which is at least as good as the Birds right now.

Feeling this team should beat mediocre teams at this point is based on feelings generated during the preseason, when everyone evaluates what's been done on paper. On the field so far this season, this team hasn't done anything to prove any of the preconceived notions generated during the preseason.

If the Birds win this, it'll be much more close than it should be. I can again see them come out and be fired up, make a few big plays to get an early lean, then they'll shut it down, and the coaching staff will allow it to happen.

24-21 Birds.

For me personally, this is the one game on the entire schedule that the Eagles absolutely CAN NOT lose.

If they lose this game... I'm screwed for a year at the very least.

Eagles - 30
Niners - 16

There will be an Eagles D/ST touchdown in this game...
