Pretty soon, people won't be debating whether or not to move him, but whether he should be moved further back in the lineup or to Lehigh Valley. I'm not sure it can really be called a slump when the numbers are that bad for that long, and seemingly getting worse. That's like a great depression.

it happened one year ago...he average is a little lower this year but i dont know why everyone is acting like this is something new...pat burrell was horrid for two YEARS straight and never left the lineup now howard needs to go to lehigh valley?

dont get me wrong i wanted him traded last year and im by no means defending him but its way to early to send him down or put greg dobbs in the cleanup hole
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Howard=Black
Burrell=White

Simple.

No but really, IGY's right. If anything you keep sitting him every few games to let him know he needs to get his shtein together. But you don't move him from #4 when he's in the game. He started the year off slow last year, and now it's in his head. He looks a lot like Burrell did two years ago...you can tell that it's really in the back of his mind when he's at the plate. He's 40+ home runs when he breaks out of the slump, and he deserves every chance to do so. It just takes one good game to get over the hump. Not to mention the Philles are going to want to see him raise his stock as a trade chip, because there's no way they sign him long term now. And they're not going to accomplish that by batting him 7th.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Rome

Munson

I like agreeing with whoever is right...this time it's IGY. Howard stays in the #4.

the only thing more annoying than you arguing with him is you agreeing with him.

shut up.

SunMo

lol, because of Fox's exclusivity rights the Phils/Giants game this Saturday won't be on any TV at all

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

MDS

Giants could move the game to 4pm their time and it would air. But they won't.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

No TV tomorrow at all? That farging blows. It seems to happen once a year because of those stupid ass rules. MLB are a buncha clowns.

I fell asleep tonight watching the game right after the Giants went up 4-1. I'm pissed because I missed the comeback and because Harry was on the EI feed.

Looks like Rollins came back with his hittin shoes on.

I remember when watching the Phils on tv was simple.......

If they were away, the game was on Fox 29.

If they were home, it was on PRISM.

In either case, all you heard was Harry and Richie calling the game for all 9 innings.  Those were the days.   :'(

Geowhizzer

I can remember when only about half the games were on TV at all.

And Sarge, it was never just Harry and Whitey for nine that I can recall.  Remember Andy Musser?

Sgt PSN

Yeah.....I remember a third person but couldn't remember who it was.  But what I was getting at was that you didn't have to deal with them switching commentators mid-game, bouncing back and forth between tv and radio.  Sofa King Annoying.

Still miss Whitey.  Sarge is OK, but the magic that there was between Harry and Ashburn (which, admittedly, may be more the viewpoint of a child at the time) is just not there.
