Not a big fan of the phrase "left you with a chance to win".  How did Eaton leave the Phillies with a chance to win yesterday?  4 IP and 6 R?

Not sure being on pace to give up 13 runs qualifies as given your team a good chance.

SunMo

yeah, i wouldn't agree he did that yesterday, but he has done that for just about every other game this year.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Was that a purpose pitch from Kendrick?   Got Jackson right in the shoulder.  Ouch.

Didn't get to see last night's game, so I don't know if anything happened then to warrant a retaliation.

Are you picking up the Arizona TV feed?  Mark Grace is just awful.  What a lug.  Sits there clapping when they get a hit, shouting "RUN! RUN!" in the background, "oh so and so is due to hit one out here."  He needs to go back to the Columbia School of Broadcasting and get his money back.  He is horrible

If you have MLB EI on DirecTV, the Philly feed is on 745.  Not HD, though.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with mlb.com

Victorino is a stud.  Gets cleaned out and still books it all the way home after being nearly decapitated by Jackson.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuotePhillies Notes: Eaton now beginning to eat away at Manuel

PHOENIX - Adam Eaton opened the season with three consecutive quality starts and a 4.12 ERA, but his last four haven't been as good, and that could be reason to worry, considering his track record with the Phillies.

Eaton has a 7.23 ERA in his last four starts.

"Concerned? Yes. Worried? No," manager Charlie Manuel said after Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Eaton allowed five hits, six runs and three walks in four innings Tuesday. Those three walks came in the fourth inning, in which the Diamondbacks scored five runs. That included walking pitcher Randy Johnson on four pitches with the bases loaded to force in the tying run.

"I [messed] up," Eaton said.

"He needs a chance to stay out there sometimes," Manuel said. "He's got to do a job there. He had all the chances in the world to get out of the inning. He just didn't get it done."

Quality.
"Oh, yeah. They'll still boo. They have to. They're born to boo. Just now, they'll only boo with two Os instead of like four." - Larry Andersen

Eaton has kept the bums in games long enough for them to have a chance to win. He's had a few decent outings, a couple so so outings, and 1 really bad outing. The bums give him adequate run support and he very well could be 4-1 at this point. Howard on the other hand just goes from bad to worse. Seriously, re-sign Pat, make him the 4 guy, trade Howard to the Yanks for pitching or minor leaugers.

Bruntlett's been a pleasant surprise. I know his first couple outings have been horrid but he's not a bad player. I'd have been fine with going 2-2 in this series so when they lose to Webb tonight I won't be disappointed. They get a 3rd win and the bums  deserve a lot of credit.

ice grillin you

eaton SO FAR has been fine...definitely the best #5 starter in the division thus far...could he implode and be out of the rotation in a month sure...but criticizing him for his season thus far is idiotic

philies would have a much better chance in games like tonight if idiot charlie had made king the #1 starter like he should have
