I don't know why, but this makes me laugh.

Warrant out for Chris Henry :-D

QuoteBengals wide receiver Chris Henry has been accused of punching an 18-year-old in the face and breaking a car window with a beer bottle.

Court documents show Henry was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor assault and criminal damaging in the Monday incident in Cincinnati. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The 24-year-old player was in court last week after being ticketed for driving with expired Kentucky license plates.

I'm probably overthinking this, but now that the Bengals cut him, does this give Chad more leverage or less?  (Before the Bengals could afford to bench him, but now they definatly need him)

In that case, I think Chad Johnson just increased his leverage to get a new contract or an apology from Marvin Lewis, because they now REALLY can't afford to lose him.

Well, unless the Eagles throw in the other Chad Johnson to the trade, right Phreak?

Marvin Lewis will apologize to Chad Johnson at roughly the same time Andy Reid will win a triathalon.

QuoteMORE TROUBLE FOR BENGALS
Posted by Mike Florio on April 3, 2008, 3:11 p.m.

In addition to the Monday altercation (allegedly) that got receiver Chris Henry cuffed by the cops and then cut by the Bengals, there's another incident that could land Henry and two guys still employed by the team in hot water.

According to WLWT-TV, Henry and running back Chris Perry and defensive tackle Domata Peko were at a club called "BANG" in Cincinnati, where they allegedly caused an early-morning ruckus last Sunday.

The club issued the following statement on Thursday:  "On March 30 around 1 a.m., there were incidents involving members of the Cincinnati Bengals Football team at BANG Nightclub.  Chris Henry, Chris Perry and Domata Peko were escorted out by police at the close of the club.  Charges have not been filed, pending the settlement of punitive damages."

A league source tells us that the players have refused to pay anything to "BANG," and that charges will indeed be pursued.

That said, we're troubled by the appearance that the folks at "BANG" apparently tried to squeeze some money out of Henry and company by holding over their heads the possibility of filing charges.   It's not much different than what those guys in Little Rock tried to pull several weeks ago with Darren McFadden.  The far better approach for the victim of an alleged crime is to get the cops involved before trying to squeeze any money out of the alleged perps.

Regardless, Perry and Peko could be the next members of the team that wears tiger stripes to be sporting prison stripes in due time.
