U.S. District Court Judge Denis R. Hurley noted the "dedication and commitment" Ingram had shown on the football field but also his record, which includes seven previous convictions and goes back 23 years.

The case has its roots in Montana, where a trooper and DEA agent stopped a car that was carrying six pounds of marijuana and about three kilograms of cocaine on Sept. 16, the affidavit said.

BUCCANEERS' MATT MCCOY ARRESTED FOR DUI

Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Matt McCoy was arrested this morning on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, the Tampa Tribune is reporting.

Per the report, McCoy was arrested at 4:11 a.m. less than 500 feet from his home. Police say McCoy swayed while standing, had glazed eyes and smelled of alcohol.

McCoy reportedly refused to take field sobriety tests and refused a breath test.

McCoy signed with the Buccaneers in March and has played three games this season. He has previously played for the Saints and Eagles.

We will reset our days without an arrest meter to zero, after it reached a whopping total of four.

It was a costly DUI arrest for Matt McCoy.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have released McCoy, the linebacker who was arrested this morning on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

McCoy is the latest NFL player to learn a hard lesson: If you're a good player, you can get away with a certain level of off-field trouble. But if you're just a marginal player, as McCoy was, you'd better keep your nose clean.

The Bucs also announced that they have promoted wide receiver Brian Clark from the practice squad to the active roster.

I met McCoy and Gocong at the draft day party at the linc 2 years ago...McCoy was such a cocky unlikeable icehole. Needless to say I'm very happy at this recent turn of events.

My McCoy story is when I'd have the sideline passes up at Lehigh I would watch as the maniac stalked the sidelines talking to himself.

Police stopped McCoy driving a 2008 BMW after seeing the vehicle heading west in the eastbound lanes of Gandy Boulevard, according to an arrest affidavit. McCoy swayed while he was standing, had glazed eyes and the odor of alcohol, the affidavit stated. He refused to undergo field sobriety tests, citing his attorney's advice, the affidavit said.

Driving down the wrong side of the street 500 feet from your house?   THATS a bender.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes will be charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after a traffic stop in which police smelled burning marijuana and found marijuana-filled cigars in his car.

Ten players per team are drug-tested each week in the regular season, and Holmes is smoking blunts in his car. Bright guy.
