I think, as always, that it's a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed."

I got a call from Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator, and he said "so have you heard about this movie we're supposedly doing?" and I said yes. And he said he was in and it was great. And Jason [Bateman], when he was doing all the Juno press, he basically just talked up [Arrested Development] the movie. He got the publicity going before anything was real. So Mitch talked to Ron Howard, who said he would direct it, and he's down. So I think Mitch was like, "I guess I'll write it then," and that's what I think he's doing now. And yes, I'm involved. I think everyone is.

Making the show into a movie is cool in concept but could completely flop. It's a 1 hour sitcom and it's as close to perfect as a one hour sitcom has ever been. Trying to string together a movie out of the formula they have could completely backfire.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Oh no doubt. But Mitch Hurwitz is writing it and the entire cast should be back, so I don't see how it could completely blow. It might not be great or as good as an episode of the TV show, it will probably be kind of good to solid like The Simpsons Movie was.

theres an entire thread about a friggin tv show becoming a movie...think about that


not even comic books that become movies get entire threads and they carry fanboydom stronger than anything
