Kevin Cooney is really farging fat.

:-D

He hasn't looked down and seen his fleshpop in years.

Of course, he's absolutely right.  But he'd be better served by leaving his headshot off of the articles.

I don't know who this Kevin Cooney guy is but I think his article strongly resembles something that a 15 year old girl would blog about on her myspace page.

i would agree with that if he didn't take the time to dig up quotes that basically let spadaro hang himself
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

lol...I really don't get the logic there.  I mean, the guy is over the top and often ridiculous...but he's getting paid to be what he is.  He's an overt PR guy, who pays his bills by painting a positive spin on Eagles stuff.

If he's not more positive than random fans on a message board, he wouldn't be doing his job.

That said, I do think he could have toned it down a notch to build up some credibility...but that ship has sailed.  Personally, I don't read anything he writes, because it's a waste of time...but I don't understand the venom.  I mean, at his worst, he's useless as a source of information.  The fact that people get invested enough in the drivel to care is the funny part.

Philly Crew

I can understand why reporters would be upset with Spads hypocrisy with his lecturing them on professionalism and journalist integrity.  Spads would be much better off just ignoring the criticism and just do his job of spouting off the company line.

But that's the thing.....why does a "professional" journalist even care what the hell Spadaro is writing?  Everyone knows that Spads probably doesn't write anything that isn't routed through Reid/Banner/Lurie first.  So who gives a ish?  Go back a few years and I'm sure that if a journalist took exception to something that another person said/wrote, then he would have at least confronted the person about it and maybe kicked a little ass.  But they wouldn't turn their article into some juvenille he said, she said pile of crap.

because people take offense to two bit hacks like spadaro telling them how to do their job...its bad enough that spadaro goes to press conferences and has the gall to ask questions...but to go on off on real newsmen in the manner he does i would imagine is infuriating to them

First of all, IGY's comparison of Spadaro to the douchebags at ES is completely laughable.  The Eagles official website is a hundred times better than the taterskins site and the content that is offered is actually excellent.  I don't agree with everything Spadaro trowels out and his unending positivity is annoying at times, but come on.  The hatred thing is pretty silly too especially considering you've never met the guy.  What he can say or write publicly is pretty farging far from what he actually believes about the team, so expecting him to tell everyone the "truth" especially considering what his function is is unrealistic to say the least.

As far as his comments about the writers in town, he's right about a lot of them because just as much as it is his job to point out the positive, it's their job to stir up controversy and focus on the negative.  That's what newspaper hacks do best because controversy sells papers.

For me the bottom line is this... I don't read his On the Inside articles because I know they're fluff.  I also don't read a lot of what the columnists offer up because it's fluff of the opposite variety.

I wonder how many people actually pay for "Eagles Insider" magazine.

ice grillin you

if you ask me andy reid has gotten an unbelievble pass from the philly media pretty much from day one...more so than anyone i can remember in my lifetime of following sports in the city....

they also were exemplary thruout his family troubles

which makes it even more sickening that spadaro would attack the media after a frigging mini camp coming off a playoffless season...just shut the farg up you little twat

I subscribed to Eagles Digest for one season back in 01 or 02.  And aside from the fact that the content didn't really contain anything I couldn't already read on the website for free, it was really annoying that I would always get my weekly issue on Monday or Tuesday after the game was played.
