Wade Phillips is the new Barry Switzer except he won't get a ring out of it.  1, maybe 2 more years and he's out the door and Jason Garrett is the new Cowboys HC.  Unless Garrett starts getting offers this year.  Atlanta anyone? 

I couldn't have said it better myself. Wade Phillips trashing other teams is sorta like if Corey Simon went around last year bragging about the Colts winning the Super Bowl. It's true that the team is good, but Phillips has nothing to do with it.

Did any of you watch the tape?  How can you characterize what was said as "trashing" the eagles?  Waaaah, waaah...He said "No," when someone said 'but the Eagles don't look good, do they?'  Waah, waah.

Very true.  He is right about the Eagles not looking good.  But like you said, you don't just come out and say it, especially when you're Wade farging Phillips and haven't done diddly as an NFL head coach and is nothing more than a figure head for the Cowboys.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with what Phillips said, just pointing out that the guy who said it doesn't have much to do with his own team's success. It's like someone who inherited a fortune talking down to poor people for not being able to make money.

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips might have given the Philadelphia Eagles a little extra motivation for their visit to Dallas on Sunday.

While talking to the media about his discussions with his father, former NFL coach Bum Phillips, the first-year coach of the 'Boys said that Bum had given him some advice about the Eagles.

"'Philadelphia really looks good,'" Phillips says that his dad told him.  "'You'd better be ready for them.'"

And then one of the reporters says, "They don't look good, right?"

Phillips' response -- "No" -- triggers plenty of laughter.

"But, you know, you gotta get ready for everybody," Phillips added, "and that's the way he's always been."

And I'm not saying the Eagles are a good team but to walk into Texas stadium and beat a 12-1 team who's only loss was to the Pats is quite impressive.
