The linebackers are better than they've been as a whole in a long time.

They are highly unspectacular but also not being victimized routinely in the run game or by tight ends.

Could the Eagles upgrade any linebacker position by adding a total stud?  Yes.  Is it going to be an offseason priority with the other team needs?  No.

Gocong, also, is better than you claim.  He's nothing exciting, but he hasn't been a severe liability like Considine.

:yay thank you.  and to even compare gocong to dhani jones makes me sick.  dhani was pathetic.  gocong isn't a liability out there and is getting better every week.

Takeo and Gaither are playing at a pro bowl level right now. The linebackers are ther strength of the defense right now. Funny saying that after last season.

The d-line has been good, but not on a whole. Bunkley, Patterson, and Cole have been good. Kearse has been garbage, Howard... is he still on the team? Juqua makes a play here or there.
I hope to god you are kidding about Gaither and Spikes, i can never tell.

I think Gaither is just having an absolutely terrific season. Spikes is having a real good season too. Maybe pro bowl level was a bit far, but you aren't liking what you are seeing? This is the best LB play we've had here in while now. Gaither is playing out of his mind. He is in on every play, he is aggressive. Also Spikes is a LB that can actually wrap up a tackle. The surest tackler we've had here in a while.

lol at gaither playing out of his mind...is there a mlb in the nfl with less tackles than gaither?...id venture to guess no...

he has that one int vs the giants and other than that i dont believe he has a single forced fumble or fumble recovery...hes never around the ball as hes to small to play middle linebacker

bunkley and killa are the ones playing out of their minds...i predicted two years ago that killa would lead the nfl in sacks one day and this may be the year...and if bunkley keeps this up he should make the pro bowl...hes been that good

You're black, though.  It's an unfair advantage in sports.

So tackles is a big key to how a LB is playing? Again, pro bowl was too far, and that play to Shiancoe was not good for Gaither, but he has been plugging the holes well, and has made some real nice plays like that diving goal line tackle a couple weeks ago to prevent the TD. For a 2nd year player, he is playing a lot better than I thought he would. Especially his sideline to sideline pursuit.

Simoneau lead the NFC in tackles in 2003, didn't he? Tackles as a stat can be important, but they also can be misleading.
