Thems fighting words

Downie was good again, until he farged up big time.  Cant wait until IGy is back from his cruise

Downie made an ill-advised pass but he didn't cause the goal to be scored.  Did you see the defenseman skating down the ice with his back to the play?  The puck was six inches behind him.  All he had to do was turn the farg around and knock the puck out of the zone.  Then they had several more chances to clear the puck before Malone scored (again while no one bothered to even put a body on him as he was standing five feet from the goal).

Look, there's a lot of blame to go around but it's not like the Flyers laid down out there tonight.  They got out-played but like Mo said, they're without two of their best players right now.  Blaming injuries for losses is stillupfronty to be sure, but there's no disputing Timonen & Coburn's absence is too much to overcome at this point.

 :(

get Gagne back, get Brian Campbell or Wade Redden, bring up Giroux, keep Downie around for a full year, sign Carter long-term, decide what to do with Umberger...

Seabiscuit36

I'd offer a contract to umberger right where you want him at $ wise.  If another team steps in, and offers something more, then they get compensation which will be multiple picks, and for the $ range for him its a guaranteed 1,2,3,4 and possibly higher depending on how much another offer is.

yes, god yes, yes, yes, absolutely and i think r.j.'s gone because of the other moves.  i also think gagsy might be done too.  if he is and they can reach an injury settlement with him, that would improve their cap position, right?

Seabiscuit36

Gagne is back they wont sell him on the cheap, and he should be healthy.  Apparently he hasnt been exhibiting signs of a concussion since the week after the last none he had, but they shut him down anyway because they want him back.  A healthy gagne is the best two way player you'll find on the market.

i completely agree.  if he's healthy, then obviously you keep him.  i'm hoping for the best but the way things are with concussions you just never know.

I don't think it makes sense to let Umberger go. If you're triyng to build with youth you've got to keep the core young guys around and I doubt that he would be all that expensive to sign. Whatever. More bloodlust.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

With Giroux coming up, and possibly Nodl, if they can get draft picks for him i'd do it.  I like Umberger, but he's going to command a lot considering Martin Erat just got 4.5mm per year for 7 years.  He had a better season goals wise than RJ, but RJ is making money every playoff game with his play

I don't want to see Umberger sent packing either, but if letting him go means that Brian Campbell becomes a Flyer then I'm all for it.

rjs246

Of course if the team can get something of value for him than I'll pack his bags for him. But to lose him for the sake of losing him doesn't make sense since he should be easy enough to keep.

Is there a list of free agents available?

Also, kinda off-topic but I woke up this morning and heard about the Temple shooting, then came to work and saw MDS posted after that and my dreams were shattered.
