He'll be back and is the team's best player. No need to put him to rest.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

but unless the flyers make some serious philosophical changes then crosby will win a cup way before they ever do...

I used to like to argue these points but I'm slowly coming to the realization that I'm going to die before one of my teams wins a championship

I've told my wife that I know exactly when the Eagles will win the Super Bowl:  the year after I die.

I think all Philly fans truly believe that.

Yeah, but when my father and grandfather died, I thought that might get them over the hump.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

tonight's game vs the Islanders is on VERSUS.  There's about 200 people in the stadium

Seabiscuit36

maybe less, but with the weather they are having, they get a pass, their last home game though had under 10k

i still stand by my prediction thats theres a better than average chance the flyers miss the playoffs....that would be something if they missed and the sixers made
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Pathetic effort tonight.

I keep waiting for someone to step up.

Ryan Parent was called up, and WIP is reporting a 5pm pressconference.  FOPPA?

The PC might be BS, but Parent coming up is big.  They wanted to give him time to get adjusted to the schedule.  Parent is a huge trading chip, or future shut down Dman, but he has very little upside offensively.  Hopefully they dont bring back Smith, he's terrible, worse than Hatcher who has gotten back to above average(though he has had some horrible games)

Munson

2-1 after first intermission. 1 full strength goal, 1 short handed goal (thanks to Steve Downie)

I don't understand all the bad talk about Carter, either. In fact, him and Downie have been the only guys who have appeared to have any type of energy during the last few losses. Carter might be a bitch but he has one thing 95% of the team doesn't, and that's speed. At least he's looked fast to me, a lot faster then the rest of the team. He's also one of the 6 Flyers with 18+ goals. Can't win with guys like Downie and Carter.

Defense still looks like crap. Parent wiffed on a play, but also has made some good plays, including a cross ice pass that led to a great scoring chance.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Munson

Oh, and Biron looks a lot better tonight. Made an amazing pad save in the 1st that will probably be on ESPN top 10.

Rome

3-2 Lightning.

Both goals Biron let in so far in the second should have been stopped.  He looks hapless out there and his teammates aren't giving him any help either.

The Lightning have had FIVE straight power plays.  FIVE.

ice grillin you

yeah youre right about biron...i completely missed on him...thought he was a championship caliber goalie and in a sense i think he could be in that he has the talent to get on a run in the playoffs but thats highly unlikely and hes not a guy you can confidently count on going in to the postseason

no true number one center is killing this team...briere will go down as maybe the biggest flyer bust ever...hes been invisible for like two months...and when he was scoring it was all power play...he was good on buffalo when you basically only saw him on espn highlites (or scoring at will against the flyers) but when you watch him night after night shift after shift is amazing how much of a Hoyda he is and how he does much more bad then good...the question is why didnt the flyer scouts see this

i sound like a broken record but they just dont have anyone on the team that can create even a little offense with the exception of richards and even he isnt really what youd call an offensive player....since the summer i thought offense would be the downfall of this team...thank god for the power play or else theyd be ten pts out of a playoff spot right now

they need to get people who can create for god sakes...having a couple hartnells and downies and knubles is ok but when you have three lines worth of them this is what happens....its completely laughable that jim dowd is in the nhl

Wow, everyone is down on Briere. He's had a rough stretch, but he is far and away the reason for the turnaround from last year and it isn't even close. Best offseason addition of any team.
