Observations...

First the good:
- The pass/run ratio was closer than ever before (34/29) in Big Red's tenure. Morninwheg must be running the offense these days.
- Westbrook had 20 carries (it's not much, but I've wanted to see him do that with Wiz on the field for years).
- Jason Avant had a decent game today (3 rec, 54 yds, 1 TD).

Now the bad (and there's a lot of it):
- Wiz completed less than half of his passes today. How long before the "KE-VIN!" chants start? The over/under line says 3 weeks - place your bets.
- Sheldon Brown tied for the most tackles for the Eagles today. A terrible, yet telling, stat.
- I almost :puke when I realized it, but today's punt returns actually made me miss Reno Mahe.
- Why was Mushmouth returning punts when he didn't do it much in the past? Whose gem of an idea was that, and why does he still have a job?
- What posessed J. R. Reed to go anywhere near the football on that last punt by the Packers?
- Does the ST coach still have a job, and if so, why?
- How many penalties did the Eagles commit today? Way too many.
- In short, the Eagles weren't well prepared for today's game.

The ugly:
- See above.
Crier of the week: Terrorists of all backgrounds. Tantrums are selfish acts by children; extortion and murder disguised as fervor for a cause are both selfish and just plain evil. "We're gonna blow up things and kill people until we get our way!" There's a convincing argument, huh?

i hope he just paniced and had a brain fart as that is the first thing you learn in football regarding punt returns.  close game, ball lands in front of you, get the farg out of the way.

any way you look at it there is no excuse for it.

we'll be talking about this one for a long time.

AR is what now 3-7 on opening day?  I'll be sure not to watch next year.

He put more effort into that rant than the offense and special teams put into the game. Guy needs to chill out.

I don't have the time (or interest) to read all that right now. Maybe tomorrow... maybe.

Bring back MAHE!   :crazy

You might get your wish. Apparently they are having him in for a talk.

I've given it quite a bit of thought, and I'm really, really glad they lost this game.  I mean, if they'd won, that lingering spectre of a possible undefeated season would really be a distraction heading into Week 2.....

just heard them talking about this on WIP then went to the emb and checked it out

spadaro on the reed fumble:

"Am I the only one who thinks Brent Celek came up with that Reed fumble at the end of the game and that the Eagles got rooked a little bit? Why wasn't there a review?"
