With all the players out there like Vinatieri, Givens, and Branch that the Patriots got rid of or wouldn't pay... would not one of them have blown the whistle by now?

As an NFL fan, I want to see this go away.  Hate on the Patriots all you want, but they're arguably the best team in the NFL right now and certainly are over the last 5-7 years.  Alienating their fan base and bringing into question the validity of their Super Bowl wins is bad for the league as a whole.

Plus, the Eagles really suck a massive amount of anus right now, so it matters not to me if the Patriots are taken out of contention this year.  I'd rather they get to play so they can beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.

im not sure how deep it goes but it would have to be that the players didnt know. that automaticaly IMO throws out the shoulder pad theory.
