episode 3 was ridiculous. those who say it was "okay" suck at life.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Just finished the 4th episode, Marlo is the devil

Just a prediction but Omar starts his revenge next week by dropping snoop. Marlo gets it in the last episode. The press angle is pretty boring so far.

Saw 5 and 6. Things just get better, I'll leave it at that.

from bill simmons article today

"Speaking of "The Wire," old friend Jason Whitlock and I were exchanging e-mails about the greatest scene in "Wire" history last weekend. I always thought it was the Stringer/Avon balcony scene in the third season when it became clear that (A) one of them was going to kill the other, and (B) each of them was thinking this, only they were pretending it wasn't the case. Just an amazing piece of writing and acting. Whitlock argues for the first Marlo/Avon jail scene (from this season's second episode) and made such a convincing case that I went back to the episode "On Demand" and watched it three straight times ... and he's right, that's an incredible scene. Now I'm torn. I want to see how Season 5 plays out before I make a final verdict. If you have any thoughts, send them along."

If you have not seen all of Season 4, DO NOT READ this question.

All this time I thought it was Michael that killed Bodie, but other people are telling me it was that dude O-Dog.  anyone else think it was Michael?  why would they bother bringing in basically a brand new character to take out once of the longest standing ones?

It definitely wasn't Michael. He drops some other random dealer at the end of the season finale. Maybe it was O-dog but I'm not sure since he's such a minor character. Bodie's character really didn't fit with how the story was going so I think they just killed him off for the sake of getting rid of his character.

It was O-Dog. I'm not sure who he is these days, but he's described as an up and coming member of the Stanfield clan. Anyway, remember Chris said that Michaels' first kill shouldn't be with someone he knows (worked for Bodie, knew him threw Namond), so instead he dropped some random dude.

Having O-Dog kill Bodie showed how insignificant he was to Marlo. I don't even think Marlo went up to him to tell him that he either takes on Marlo's package or dies, it was either Chris/Snoop or Monk. It was that simple. So when they found out Bodie was talking to police, he was a dead man. And since offing him wasn't a big deal, O-Dog did it. You've seen that Chris handles all majors deaths, but for minor ones, he sends out others to get the job done.

Just finished Season 3.  Going to buy Season 4 with my next paycheck.

In the meantime, I'm going to watch all the episodes with commentary.
